week 0 - day 1

[Saturday begins much like Friday, with no further answers provided, and no means of escape. However, at 3 PM on Saturday, the old grandfather clock in the foyer begins to chime. From the foyer, the ballroom doors stand open, and the room is bright with sunshine. Soft, dreamy music plays from a radio inside.
Inside the ballroom, what seems to be a magnificent party is laid out. There is a buffet table laden with finger foods - vegetables and dips, finger sandwiches, pastries, fruit, and cheeses. Next to the table are glasses filled with wine, champagne, or juice. Most of the room is empty, with room to stand and talk, although towards the windows looking out on the courtyard are six tables with five place settings each, set for a larger meal.
And then there's a seventh table, at the back of the room, on which are thirty small notebooks. Inside, the notebooks appear to be some sort of album, with each page containing a picture of and information about your fellow guests.
After everyone has filed in, the doors shut and lock behind the final guest; the doors to the courtyard close as well. You'll have some time to talk amongst yourself, for it will be another hour of dining before anyone else appears]
This is an open mingle log for the welcome feast. Please tag one another. There will be NPC interaction in the post later in the day.

Well. At least they caught my good side. But I've lost a few pounds since they made this. Gluten-free. It's all the rage.

I suppose they didn't consider 'intense narcissism' enough of a skill to include it in your statistics. I'm impressed, anyway.

So you're really a singing robot, huh?
[ Though, by the way it sounds, she's not convinced. That synthesized vocoder could be anything. There's enough technology from her time to manage something like that and she's already seen what Minx is capable of creating. ]

30 languages, vampire strength, robots? [ She laughs to herself. Her own entry just makes her laugh even harder — despite the truth of it all. This just seems like some fun little act to her or something out of a fantasy novel she's previously enjoyed. ] Who would honestly believe any of this?

Belarus | 11 am, later and 3.30 pm
[after working through the evening and just sleeping in her own trench (fortunately it didn't rain), Belarus has dug a hole so deep that... it has hit solid rock 6 feet down. Undeterred, she had tried to dig around it... just to find it extended all the way to the iron fencing, which went all the way down to it in turn. As she discovers by jolting herself when the shovel meets iron at 11 in the morning.]
Dziarmo!
[dropping the spade and rubbing at her hands... well, now what?]
shortly afterwards...
[Belarus won't be hard to miss, given she is trailing dirt everywhere, still has the shovel over her shoulder and looks rather set to punch something. She's on her way back to her room, which she won't be leaving until the 3pm summons, but feel free to catch her on her return trip... or avoid her...]

Felicia Marlow ☩ 3:30 PM
Okay, wow. Yeah, we all have embarrassing names, big deal. Don't ever call me Felicia, but that's not the point right now.
Is anyone else sort of concerned about why they've decided to share all of our vulnerabilities and pain tolerances and junk? Also, if all of this is true, some of us are in way over our heads here.

Kanaya Maryam
[Turning in for the night and still being there in the morning was not a good experience by any means. The only bright side is the opportunity to pick out a new outfit. She gets a wider-brimmed hat today, and still carries her keyring on her wrist.
Having explored enough already yesterday and being exhausted (not to mention thirsty - she really should ask their hostess about blood if she ever materializes) she finds her favorite room of the house: The conservatory. Here is where Kanaya can be found in a chair sunbathing, with her eyes closed.
Eventually she will be lured by the clock to...]
3:00 PM: Foyer
[...where she takes a notebook for herself. Thirty guests. That's actually more people than she's ever seen in one place in her entire life before. Tapping her foot uncomfortably.]
Is this nothing more than another proof of our host's propensity for customization?

Kaoru Nagumo
[after listening to Rin's performance earlier, Kaoru has decided to stop back in the music room. with absolutely no knowledge on how to play pianos at all, there's little more than a few bad notes sounding from the area, but...
it's a decent way to fill the silence, at least, and something to distract from the circumstances that have yet to get better.]
foyer - 3pm
[though several people are verbally quite chafed over the little book of information, Kaoru can be found staring at it in relative silence, trying (and failing) not to look vaguely insulted. eventually, with a small huff:]
That's a little rude... Who do I even speak to to fix this mistake? [and then in a quiet murmur:] I do not know that swordsmanship is something I excel in, either.
3pm duh
—Wait, no way.
Clyde looks up from his book to stare at Kaoru with a perplexed expression. He didn't hear what she (he??) said, so he's clearly just trying to... you know... assess the situation... ]

Where did they even get this information?

(no subject)
Sharon Carter
[ Sharon had poked around the day before, but she hadn't found any information regarding home and how to get there, nor who was behind all this.
Which means that she's still investigating today. She doesn't have to consider for long before she decides to start her search in the study, sorting through the titles to see if any stand out. She flips through a couple of the murder mysteries, but it's the journals that draw her attention. She flips through the one on the desk. Recipes? It looks like they involve chemistry somehow... Notes on murder mystery books. Those are... odd things to combine.
She sinks into the chair at the desk and studies the pages more carefully. ]
Foyer
[ Sharon doesn't look at her book right away, choosing instead to focus on other people and their reactions. During brief lulls, though, she takes a peek. Her eyes freeze as the notebooks share information about her scars. ]
Who- who the hell is behind this?
study!
Find anything interesting in those books? [Alice only bothered to look at one or two before moving on. Inspecting this place can take forever.]
study!
(no subject)
...
Alice | 3:00pm & 3:30pm
What the hell is this?!
[Screams out the 5'8 woman in a rage over the books on the seventh table.]
How in the hell did they get any of this information! Not even my own mother knows this much about me! Goddammit, what kind of asshole is behind this bullshit?
[She grits her teeth and eyes the bracelet that vaguely looks like a digital watch on her left wrist. Shit, she was hoping to keep this a fucking secret. At least it doesn't seem like anything else about the Nonary Game is on this card. But it does implicate her as a government agent, oh great thanks card so much for "secret info".]
3:30pm
[After flipping her shit over these notebooks that have her information inside of it, she decides to take advantage of the situation and read up on the other people kidnapped here by taking one of the thirty to examine. So she sits at one of the tables and doesn't dare to touch the food; even if she hasn't eaten all day she knows better. It's insane, honestly. A ton of royalty from the looks of things, robots (in the same vein as K? Who knows) and a witch? This is some grade A bullshit, but it's grade A true bullshit she assumes.]
The spread of people here is diverse and many of them seem to be from outside the country, some even holding a high standing of power. ...That is, if we're even still in America. A whole day and still no clear purpose as to why we're here and no way to escape. Who the hell could pull something so elaborate off?
[30 people is a lot compared to Zero's small pickings of 9, but Alice has no idea who could pull this off. All she's certain off is that one of these people may very well be behind this all.]
3:00
So I take it you don't remember giving this info away, either...

Hostess - 4 PM
A woman walks in, elegantly dressed in a long black gown and fur stole. Her face is partially obscured by the veil of her hat, although it is possible to make out her expressions and that she's a quite attractive woman in her late 30s or early 40s.
The doors close behind her as soon as she steps inside.]
Well, hello, everyone! How thrilling to meet all of you at last. Now, we won't be getting started quite yet, but I did want to say hello and introduce myself!

The Hostess - 4:30 PM
Good evening, everyone. It is so nice to see each and every one of your faces at last. And this will be the first time our viewers at home have a chance to get acquainted with all of you, so do be on your best behavior.
[She gives a little wink.]
I'm sure all of you are wondering why you've been gathered here. Well, I'm thrilled to announce you've all been chosen as contestants in a very special murder mystery game! Each week, every one of you will have an opportunity to participate in solving a thrilling new mystery. Of course, our special culprits have the opportunity to win wonderful prizes if they succeed in creating the "perfect murder." But, of course, a culprit only wins if he or she manages to commit the crime and get away with it, so you must use all of your skills to either succeed at a crime or succeed in solving one! Each of you has been chosen for an interesting twist we're certain you're bringing to the table, so each of you, please take a glass of champagne now?
[She picks up a flute of champagne from the table herself.]
Now, no need to worry about poison, loves, [she adds with a wink] as the game won't start until tomorrow morning. I'll expect to see you all in the drawing room at 9 sharp to go over the official rules and this week's prizes. For now, let us merely toast to our participation!
[She raises her glass with a beaming smile, and then takes a small sip of the drink.]
