murder manor week zero

saturday

[Saturday begins much like Friday, with no further answers provided, and no means of escape. However, at 3 PM on Saturday, the old grandfather clock in the foyer begins to chime. From the foyer, the ballroom doors stand open, and the room is bright with sunshine. Soft, dreamy music plays from a radio inside.

Inside the ballroom, what seems to be a magnificent party is laid out. There is a buffet table laden with finger foods - vegetables and dips, finger sandwiches, pastries, fruit, and cheeses. Next to the table are glasses filled with wine, champagne, or juice. Most of the room is empty, with room to stand and talk, although towards the windows looking out on the courtyard are six tables with five place settings each, set for a larger meal.

And then there's a seventh table, at the back of the room, on which are thirty small notebooks. Inside, the notebooks appear to be some sort of album, with each page containing a picture of and information about your fellow guests.

After everyone has filed in, the doors shut and lock behind the final guest; the doors to the courtyard close as well. You'll have some time to talk amongst yourself, for it will be another hour of dining before anyone else appears]

This is an open mingle log for the welcome feast. Please tag one another. There will be NPC interaction in the post later in the day.

I can't say. I have no interest in them; I don't care.

What does 'choloform' [it's obvious she's never pronounced the word before] do?

It used to be used as an anesthetic in the old days. Doctors would make their patients inhale it so they would be asleep during operations. I guess if you sniff it, is isn't so bad though... [ She looks at Belarus skeptically with a raised eyebrow. ] You sure you didn't pass out after you smelled it?
mostlymarried: (yup)

[personal profile] mostlymarried 2013-09-22 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
...I went to sleep shortly afterwards, but that was intended.

Huh. Maybe it's a fake out, like a stage prop... [ She lifts it into the light, turning it gently. Rapture smirks, eyebrows knitting together. ] Or maybe it's an ancient potion of some sort that has to be ingested to actually work.

What does it matter? Let's just pour it down the sink...

[ Rapture frowns, putting the bottle back down. This feels like Greece all over again. Minus being chased by angered Grecians, that is. ]

Because, if we're already here we may as well have some fun. I mean, look at this place! Are we really going to let it go to waste?
mostlymarried: (how interesting)

...

You are interested in killing, then?

No, but I can tell you I'm not interested in sitting around and doing nothing. It's pretty clear that we're not getting out until something happens, wether it's "murder" or not.

[ Plus, you know, the Hostess agrees with it being a publicity stunt. Like she's going to give the chance of a lifetime to show everyone how great the Stingers really are without any interference from Jem or Pizzazz. ]

...

[she examines the bottle, considering.]

It could be used on our hostess...

She's not that dumb. If we're here to play a game in front of the audience, she's going to think of every possible scenario of people having it out for her.

Plus, we don't even know if it really is chloroform.
