saturday

[Saturday begins much like Friday, with no further answers provided, and no means of escape. However, at 3 PM on Saturday, the old grandfather clock in the foyer begins to chime. From the foyer, the ballroom doors stand open, and the room is bright with sunshine. Soft, dreamy music plays from a radio inside.

Inside the ballroom, what seems to be a magnificent party is laid out. There is a buffet table laden with finger foods - vegetables and dips, finger sandwiches, pastries, fruit, and cheeses. Next to the table are glasses filled with wine, champagne, or juice. Most of the room is empty, with room to stand and talk, although towards the windows looking out on the courtyard are six tables with five place settings each, set for a larger meal.

And then there's a seventh table, at the back of the room, on which are thirty small notebooks. Inside, the notebooks appear to be some sort of album, with each page containing a picture of and information about your fellow guests.

After everyone has filed in, the doors shut and lock behind the final guest; the doors to the courtyard close as well. You'll have some time to talk amongst yourself, for it will be another hour of dining before anyone else appears]

This is an open mingle log for the welcome feast. Please tag one another. There will be NPC interaction in the post later in the day.

[He's flipping through the pages with curiosity, mentally taking notes as to what stands out. Then he gets to his own page and starts flailing.]

Oh my god -- okay look, I had no idea how to answer the question and I had to write something, and it was just the first thing that popped into my head, all right? I'm not some - some kind of weird pervert or anything! How the hell did they know about that anyway?

I, for one, look forward to the fascinating dinner conversation I foresee in our future. We certainly have a varied group.

[Susan idly flips through the pages as well.]

I'll be sure to consult you if that particular need ever comes up.
humanic: (ugh)

[personal profile] humanic 2013-09-22 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
[He'll just be slamming his head slowly against the table now.]

I knew not studying for that dumb Economics test and wasting the entire night reading Wikipedia articles would come back one day to bite me in the ass. I swear, I know about a ton of stuff unrelated to penises.

...did I really just say penis out loud? Oh my god, someone please stop me from talking from now on.
inthebones: (Talk down)

[personal profile] inthebones 2013-09-22 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, no, please continue... [A slight frown.] Zigney? It's quite refreshing to have a conversation about something other than our impossible circumstances, I assure you.

Perhaps we can casually segue into a different subject outside of genitalia, though.
humanic: (surprised)

[personal profile] humanic 2013-09-22 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
[He waves a hand.] Don't bother trying to pronounce my first name, just call me Stiles. You're just lucky I've already exhausted all the possible ways this could go horribly wrong and have moved on to trying to distract myself from them.

...you know how when people tell you not to think of pink elephants and they're all you can think about from that point on? Yeah. Please, please pick a different subject because I am drawing a blank and it's going to be history of circumcision from here on out unless you get me rolling on something else.
inthebones: (Superior)

[personal profile] inthebones 2013-09-22 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
Unfortunately, I know exactly what you mean right this very moment.

[And this is as much about penises Susan will ever say.]

Shall we discuss the other fascinating tidbits in this book, then? I can't say I know what 'Ritalin' is -- And how charming, we have the same blood type.

[Not that Susan knows what blood types are.]
humanic: (Default)

[personal profile] humanic 2013-09-22 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Oh good, that means that if one of us gets horribly mangled and loses too much blood, the other one can donate theirs without having to worry about killing them even more painfully. And Ritain's the pills I take - helps me keep focused without being distracted by every little thing I see. Trust me, you do not want to see me get even worse than this.

What about you? [He flips to Susan's page in the book, then whistles when he reads that list of skills.]

...you know, I really should be getting used to that feeling of being incredibly outmatched on the skillset front.
inthebones: (Smile)

[personal profile] inthebones 2013-09-22 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
Keeping a positive face about these things, I see.

And it's really quite incredible what a bit of schooling can manage nowadays. Try not to concern yourself with it overly much; I have the strangest feeling your skill sets will see just as much use, if not more so.

[So much for keeping positive.]

...I don't mean the last bit.

[Poland doesn't seem to mind the notebooks too much. If he could he'd rip out his own page-- it was a total invasion of privacy. But for everyone else it's actually kind of convenient to have some of the information written out for him, he'd never be able to ask twenty nine other people about any of these things on his own.

When he comes to Zbigniew "Stiles" Stilinski's page though, Poland can't help but stare at him happily.
