week 0 - day 1

[Saturday begins much like Friday, with no further answers provided, and no means of escape. However, at 3 PM on Saturday, the old grandfather clock in the foyer begins to chime. From the foyer, the ballroom doors stand open, and the room is bright with sunshine. Soft, dreamy music plays from a radio inside.
Inside the ballroom, what seems to be a magnificent party is laid out. There is a buffet table laden with finger foods - vegetables and dips, finger sandwiches, pastries, fruit, and cheeses. Next to the table are glasses filled with wine, champagne, or juice. Most of the room is empty, with room to stand and talk, although towards the windows looking out on the courtyard are six tables with five place settings each, set for a larger meal.
And then there's a seventh table, at the back of the room, on which are thirty small notebooks. Inside, the notebooks appear to be some sort of album, with each page containing a picture of and information about your fellow guests.
After everyone has filed in, the doors shut and lock behind the final guest; the doors to the courtyard close as well. You'll have some time to talk amongst yourself, for it will be another hour of dining before anyone else appears]
This is an open mingle log for the welcome feast. Please tag one another. There will be NPC interaction in the post later in the day.

So you're really a singing robot, huh?
[ Though, by the way it sounds, she's not convinced. That synthesized vocoder could be anything. There's enough technology from her time to manage something like that and she's already seen what Minx is capable of creating. ]

Ah, yes, I am! It seems there's quite a few musical types here, yourself included. ♪

Preferably. Real rock, too. None of that saccharine "pop-rock" stuff.

[She'll just take out her laptop so she can turn on the musical accompaniment, since she sadly didn't bring a guitar with her. She quickly selects a song called Black Rebel, which starts out with a scratchy "metal" voice that sounds more than a little robotic. She leans over to look behind her — for any sort of strange wiring or signs of amplification — but when she finds nothing she firmly holds Rin in place and looks at her directly in the eye. ]
That's... incredible! Oh my gosh, Minx would lose her mind! [ This is the kind of science-fiction she practically gushes over to Rapture, who similarly enjoys it herself. ] I can't believe robots can actually... play music and sing.

Yeah, I'm pretty amazing! But if you want to give credit where it's due, I was made by a company called Crypton Future Media. As a robot, my songs are crowd sourced, so if your friend Minx would be interested in working with me I'd be happy to meet her! ♪
[she smiles and gives her a friendly shoulder pat as she says this, sort of implying that Rapture could do the same]
no subject
What do you mean by 'crowd sourced' though?
no subject
[it was a bit creepy, yes. She speaks in a joking tone, but believe her, this is no joke.]
It bascially means anyone who pays for the right to can write songs with me. That song I just sang for you, "Black Rebel", was written by a producer called Minus. I have an enormous database of songs! ♪
no subject
It's so hard for her to fully believe, but with the way technology is changing and seeing how Minx handles her own synthesizers, she's smart enough to see this outcome being possible. ]
What about actual musicians though? I mean... human ones. They won't disappear, will they?
no subject
Umm...
Well, that's not up to me, but it's not what I would want! I don't think it would really happen, either. ♪
no subject
I don't think it would be possible to wipe out musical artists completely either. There are some things you can't really get without a human maneuvering it, like sound and special effects mixing together on stage. Or that strong bond with your bandmates.
