murder manor week zero

saturday

[Saturday begins much like Friday, with no further answers provided, and no means of escape. However, at 3 PM on Saturday, the old grandfather clock in the foyer begins to chime. From the foyer, the ballroom doors stand open, and the room is bright with sunshine. Soft, dreamy music plays from a radio inside.

Inside the ballroom, what seems to be a magnificent party is laid out. There is a buffet table laden with finger foods - vegetables and dips, finger sandwiches, pastries, fruit, and cheeses. Next to the table are glasses filled with wine, champagne, or juice. Most of the room is empty, with room to stand and talk, although towards the windows looking out on the courtyard are six tables with five place settings each, set for a larger meal.

And then there's a seventh table, at the back of the room, on which are thirty small notebooks. Inside, the notebooks appear to be some sort of album, with each page containing a picture of and information about your fellow guests.

After everyone has filed in, the doors shut and lock behind the final guest; the doors to the courtyard close as well. You'll have some time to talk amongst yourself, for it will be another hour of dining before anyone else appears]

This is an open mingle log for the welcome feast. Please tag one another. There will be NPC interaction in the post later in the day.

I know I can do some real impulsive things in the heat of the moment, but I think even I'd remember signing up for a crazy murder reality show. And the whole fence being electrocuted thing makes me think they're pretty serious about this.

Has anyone had any luck in bypassing it yet or finding another way out? I've been trying to look for a fusebox, but I haven't found anything yet.

I haven't seen a fusebox. Which means they've set this place up so that we can't interfere with the plan.

Well, that's a big surprise. It would have been too easy if we could just escape without playing.

[He quirks an eyebrow up at her.] Anyway...banshee? I wish you were from my town, that whole summoning werewolves thing would have come in really useful a half dozen billion ties.

Look, the woman who told me that was some psycho dark druid with an ugly face. She was probably just making it up. I mean, have you ever heard of a fashionable banshee?

[She inhales and then exhales, looking at him harshly.]

My not-quite boyfriend is a werewolf.

[He makes a face.] You had to deal with psycho druids too? Is there just a fad going around in the nasty supernatural business we don't know about?

[And that gets her a shrug.] You think that's bad? My best friend's a werewolf, and his not-quite girlfriend is a hunter. And don't even get me started on how his other werewolf pal fits in their bizarre love triangle of death.

[She reaches out and grabs his arm, tight enough to bruise.]

I know a werewolf. A bunch of werewolves. And a dark druid.

Do you really think it's a coincidence we both are dealing with the exact same things?

[His eyes widen and he chews on his bottom lip worriedly.]

...there's so many people here who are obviously well-acquainted with the supernatural shenanigans, I wouldn't be surprised if it was. Countries, robots, weird powers I thought only existed in anime I totally don't watch - being one hundred percent human seems to put you in the minority in this house, which would be terrible for the self-esteem if it wasn't a feeling I'm already used to. And I definitely don't remember seeing you anywhere in my life.

But it looks like they can mess with our memories too, so that doesn't mean much. Then again, it's also possible we're from the same world with the same rules and same werewolfy fangy balls of angst, we've just never met before. I doubt all werewolves are confined to one town in California, as much as it feels that way all the time. [He rubs the back of his head anxiously.] I don't know, what do you think?
