altman ; chapel ; 9 am
It's dark inside, musty and confined. He immediately doesn't like it, but there isn't anything overtly threatening. Leaving the door cracked behind him, letting in a bit more light, he begins methodically going down the aisle, glancing down the pews on the look out for anything that might be useful or important. ]

Library » Noon, Drawing Room » 3PM
Drawing room: ( Lunch is so early here and he's yet to get used to the schedule of things here. How rude of him to miss the meals their host was kind enough to make for them (he hesitates to call their host kind but being fed was certainly nice).
Spain will help himself to a little of everything but when all is done, he isn't completely satisfied. He can be found hovering around the snack table, nibbling a cookie absentmindedly, and mumbling to himself. )
I hope dinner is soon...

To be specific, she's looking up electricity. And rapidly learning it's somewhat complicated; most of the books in this library are academic and dense and... well, she's an agricultural worker more or less. Still, she's stubbornly refusing to stop even though her mood is clearly sinking like the Titanic throughout the course of the day...
She has a notepad nearby she is slowly filling up with pages on pages of cryllic notes... most of which crossed out when the idea was invalidated by something else she'd read]

Ah, good afternoon, Miss Belarus. [He smiles, but the smile fades when he notes her obvious frustration.] Is something wrong?

Good day, miss. [a somewhat pleasant greeting is offered anyway, though Kaoru does sound a little worn out.] ...If I may ask, have you found anything in these books that may help our larger predicament of leaving this place?

He's brought a broom from the house with him, though he seems to have forgotten it, simply worrying the handle idly between his hands.]

Kanaya Maryam // various
[This room is the closest to her assigned respiteblock so it's as good a place as any for the first to burn time. The harp is her main distraction, teaching herself to play by trial and error (mostly error). Her album sits at her feet.]
Parlor - 8 A.M.
[She hadn't explored this room particularly thoroughly, but her manner is more that of an upper-class daughter exploring a previously ignored room out of sheer boredom rather than a player searching for clues in a life-or-death game; only her unhappy expression betrays the real situation. She holds her album in one hand.]
Conservatory - 9 A.M.
[Her favorite room in terms of physical attributes at least. She languishes in the sunlight with eyes barely open, just enough for the colors of the plants to reach her gaze. Her album rests on the table.]
Study - 1 P.M.
[Where she spends the rest of the day, reading mystery novels with concentration slightly more befitting study materials than entertainment. Her album is kept close in her lap, and close examination reveals she's obtained a pencil kept inside the volume.]

Susan Sto Helit | Study | 10AM
She leaves the door open and briefly casts about for the others in the house before settling into a chair with her notebook and a pen. She works absentmindedly, her concentration not fully on her task.
It remained very vexing not to remember what it was that she had lost. Judging from the reactions of her fellow guests, it would be something quite important, and yet, every piece of her life seemed to be in place. Her schooling days, the untimely passing of her parents, her time as a governess and schoolteacher, that absurd situation with the Hogfather, the later situation with the perfect timekeeper. And people? Surely not a soul was missing. Anyone memorable in her life was accounted for; she had a perfect memory, after all. Even more recent figures like that terribly strange clock fellow and the Auditor made human, that pathetic creature, Myria Lejean. They weren't particularly important to her, but... Still, they remained. Her thoughts were as well organized as a card catalog; she took pride in the perfect precision of her mental faculties. Yes, indeed, everything was in place. Even up to that moment, the one she had, if she admitted to herself, avoided thinking about, for she always secretly feared that it would slip away if she tried to grasp it too tightly, like smoke in the wind. And yet, perhaps, from time to time, she could permit herself to dwell on it. Dwell on it... and... that person.....
That person -- That person who was..............]
-- Damnation!
[That probably came out louder than she intended it to.]
You damnably clever vipers.

Latvia → Ballroom → 5:50pm
Just before dinner he can be found waiting in the corner of the ballroom, close to the ruby wing to make a quick escape. The plan was to take a small amount of food and head back to his room. The prospect of poison frightened him, but he checked the kitchen before settling in his spot. If he got here earlier than everyone else then that gave him time to retrieve dinner before it got contaminated.
You should be careful when approaching him, he might just run back to his room]

Either way, while it's not too hard to understand why he looks (and acts!) so skittish, she'll approach nevertheless. A red-haired woman wearing it in a ponytail with glasses; there are more intimidating folks out there, right?]
...Excuse me, are you alright?
[she'll take her time though, he should hear her high heels on the fancy floor before she speaks up, still a good half a dozen to a dozen feet from him. Her tone and demeanor are friendly, too; she's no intention to surprise, much less scare him, after all.]

Beat | Fence + Rooftop, alternating throughout the morning
He also knows he can't afford to expend too much of his energy doing this, lest he be made a target. So he takes frequent long breaks on the rooftop, watching everything going on outside. His expression is dark, due to the lack of success he's been having.]
