Latvia → Ballroom → 5:50pm
Just before dinner he can be found waiting in the corner of the ballroom, close to the ruby wing to make a quick escape. The plan was to take a small amount of food and head back to his room. The prospect of poison frightened him, but he checked the kitchen before settling in his spot. If he got here earlier than everyone else then that gave him time to retrieve dinner before it got contaminated.
You should be careful when approaching him, he might just run back to his room]
no subject
Either way, while it's not too hard to understand why he looks (and acts!) so skittish, she'll approach nevertheless. A red-haired woman wearing it in a ponytail with glasses; there are more intimidating folks out there, right?]
...Excuse me, are you alright?
[she'll take her time though, he should hear her high heels on the fancy floor before she speaks up, still a good half a dozen to a dozen feet from him. Her tone and demeanor are friendly, too; she's no intention to surprise, much less scare him, after all.]
no subject
Y-yes, I'm fine.
[He's really not, and it's obvious he's not. The tone is very 'please don't talk to me']
no subject
Geez, and who're you trying to convince with that? You look like a jittery bunny ready to bolt at the drop of a hat! Why don't you sit down for a while, maybe get a drink to calm your nerves?
[there's definitely something chiding about her tone, although her expression...
...yeah, that's like a pout, isn't it...]
no subject
Ah... T-thank-you for the concern. Yes, I think I'll go back to my room and have a drink and lie down there.
no subject
[no really, this is just... more than plain abnormal...]
no subject
The prospect of being murdered doesn't worry you?
[Why is everyone so calm about this!?]
no subject
[she stares at him, curious.]
Although, don't you feel awful, being so constantly high-strung?
no subject
It might be easy for you to be out and about like this, you're not a walking target. I'm so much smaller than everyone else, I'm bound to be killed first!

[Ukraine was making a point to look for him, when she finds him]
no subject
[She was probably one of the few people he was starting to trust. He felt the urge to run at the first hint of sound but once he saw her face he calmed down a little]
I... uh...
I-I'm just really scared. I don't want to get killed... S-since I'm small and weak people probably think I'm an easy target.
no subject
Then they're foolish. But if you don't want to be alone, do you want to help me look through the library?
no subject
[There's a slight twinge of hunger in his stomach that reminds him of why he's out in the open]
I should probably get dinner first. Hopefully it's not poisoned...
But afterwards I'd love to.
no subject
no subject
I'd like that a lot! I've just been really tense all day...
[There's no way that Ukraine would think of poisoning him... is there?]
no subject
It's been a lot quieter today then I thought.
no subject
I haven't actually been out of my room much... It's probably the safest place since I can lock the door.

Ah— Mr. Latvia, good evening.
no subject
G-Good evening...
A-Are you here for dinner? I probably won't stay long...
no subject
Are you not feeling well?
no subject
[The fact that she was here early as well... She might have been the one planning to poison the food. And Latvia found himself in a conundrum. His presence might discourage her from doing it and he could keep everyone else safe, but if he got in the way she might dispose of him through other means.
It was a few moments of fidgeting and off glances before he responded]
A-a little. I thought getting something eat might help but... now I'm not sure.
no subject
If you aren't feeling well, it might be a poor idea to skip a meal. Perhaps you could ask the Hostess to provide you with simple porridge and a balm for your stomach... If she is able to provide such large amounts of food otherwise, something so simple should be easy for her.
no subject
Maybe... I'm not sure.
T-to be honest I really don't trust her.
no subject
I don't, either. ...To be frank, even if she means us no harm by her own hands, the fact that she has put us into this abominable situation at all is unforgivable. [and then the flitter of anger is gone.]
Still, I doubt you would have to worry about anything she gives you. You should not make your illness worse if it can be helped.
no subject
[Well, it's not so much an illness rather than uncontrollable anxiety but an empty stomach might make it worse]
Do you know where I could find her?
