Felicia Marlow ☩ Third Floor Hall ☩ 3 PM

(Marlow has been trying to get an idea of the layout of the manor, sketching various notes in her notebook as she goes. Now, she's standing in the middle of the hallway, looking up. It seems like there's some kind of door there. She wonders where it leads, but she doesn't know if she'll be able to open it on her own.)

[inthebones]

The rooftop.

[Someone emerges from Topaz Wing and speaks from behind Marlow.]

I wouldn't advise you to go up there. It's a bit precarious.

[obsideo]

What's up there?

(That just makes her even more curious.)

[inthebones]

The Hostess waiting for you with a knife.

[...]

The roof is up there; what else do you expect? You can take a look if you're curious.

[obsideo]

Yeah, yeah, funny. It could be an attic or a crawl space or something, you know.

(She frowns, but just a little, and stands up on her tip-toes to open it.)

You've been up there already?

[inthebones]

A few nights ago, yes. I explored the entire house before this 'game' began in earnest.

[Susan will reach up to assist Marlow, being a good deal taller than she is.]

[obsideo]

Thanks! And that wasn't a bad plan. I've been just about everywhere, but I wanted to get notes down.

(Once the door is open, she'll start to climb up there.)

[inthebones]

[Susan will stay at the bottom. ...And thrust the ladder up behind her and lock the door, starving Marlow first murder successful.]

If you go in a little ways, there's a little passageway leading out onto the rooftop. There's no path up there; watch you don't slip.

The view's quite nice, but there isn't much else of use.

[obsideo]

(If only she knew how close she'd come.

She glances back down at Susan before disappearing up there.)

Feel like I should check it out anyway. Thanks! For your help, I mean.

[inthebones]

You're welcome.

[A slight pause.]

Watch that no one pushes you off the roof. ...Unless you'd like me to stand guard here.

[obsideo]

What?

(It didn't even occur to her to think someone would do something like that. Right, murder game.)

Um...I think I can handle it. But I'll be careful.

[inthebones]

Very well, then.

I shall search the grounds for your corpse in a few hours just to be sure.

[On this highly helpful note, Susan will leave Felicia to her investigating.]

Okay then! Here's hoping you don't find much!

(She knows it's a joke, but somehow it doesn't strike her as that funny. And she climbs through the door and shuts it behind her.)
