(Marlow is also checking out the library, looking for clues. She'd been hoping to find something about the mansion, but so far, just her summer reading list. She notices the other guy in there seems focused, too.)

Looking for something?

[pasodoble]

Yes. ( He laughs a bit at himself and holds up a book for her to see. It's a general history book. ) I thought I would refresh my memory a bit.

[obsideo]

Oh, huh. Anything good in there?

(She wonders if he's trying to find out more about the manor, too.)

[pasodoble]

No. ( Well, he said that rather quickly. ) There isn't anything bad either.

( Flipping through the pages dramatically and waving a hand in the air, )

There's nothing at all!

( Though, there are clearly words and pictures in the book. )

[obsideo]

It's not really surprising they didn't give us anything helpful to work with.

(At least, that's what she thinks he means.)

[pasodoble]

( Nations are really just living misunderstandings. )

Well, it doesn't matter! Even if I forgot something, I'm certain there is someone who will remember for me.

( His history is their history and so someone has to know. Historians are a Thing. )

... But I can't believe there would be nothing here!

What are you looking for? I could try to help you out?

[As a matter of fact, while Spain is rifling through a particular book, a scrap of paper falls out and drifts to the floor.]

[pasodoble]

Ah, that would be nice. ( He's so glad to have help. What kind people! ) It shouldn't be hard to find but I am looking for a book on Spain.

Or even a book with a little bit about me--

( And then the slip of paper falls from the book. He doesn't really notice though. )

[obsideo]

Spain, huh? I'll do my best.

(The wording raises a flag. She's already met a few country people, so for all she knows, this is one of them. But then she sees something fall, and she'll bend down to pick it up.)

Hey, did this come out of that book you're holding?

(She'll skim the page a little.)

It's sort of weird, doesn't seem like history to me.

[pasodoble]

Hm? ( He'll take the slip from her curiously and give it a read. As he skims through it, he makes a disappointed face. ) No, this isn't mine.

( And he returns it to her. )

Perhaps it was a bookmark? ( But it looked like it might have come from another book so he can't help but look around the library for a book that might scream, "I'm missing a part of me!" ) It must have come from somewhere...

[obsideo]

(She reads over it again, frowning even more this time. When she finishes she shudders.)

For some reason, it seems really familiar. And kind of creepy. I know it's just a book, but...it's about a dead body. Feels like a bad sign.

[pasodoble]

( It reads rather familiar to Spain too but he can't quite put his finger on it. He only knows that it isn't his so it must belong to one of his friends. One of his neighbors, perhaps? Probably, with names like those. )

I wouldn't worry too much. ( He waves a hand around the room, motioning towards all the other shelves, ) Several of the books here involve death but they're hardly real.

... Unless you're worried about the "game?"

( "Game" like he doesn't really believe it. )

I guess I am.

(She's a little disappointed in herself. She wanted to believe she didn't think anyone would play the game.)

It probably doesn't mean anything. I just wonder why it was here?

I don't think it means anything at all; like I said, it's probably someone's idea of a bookmark.

( A pause, )

But if you think it's important, why don't you keep it for now? I'm not very good at riddles so it would be of no use to me but you seem like a clever person.
