[ For someone who is popular, Rapture's abruptly keeping to herself lately. Which can only mean one thing... of course, she isn't willing to admit that to the others. So, she's left the room to her door open and has remained there for the most of the day.

She's either drinking, doing a reading for herself, or writing something, but she looks as if she is trying to keep herself occupied. ]

[since Kaoru hasn't seen Rapture after breakfast Saturday morning, it's probably time to make sure she's doing all right. Rapture will hear a timid knock on the side of her open door at around 2 in the afternoon.]

[ She's sitting morosely at her desk with her chin in hand. She doesn't startle when hearing the knock, but she does seem to be somewhere else entirely. Well, more than usual that is.

Rapture stays in her seat and swerves her head to address Kaoru. ]

Yeah?

Susan Sto Helit | Ballroom | Tuesday 8AM

[Susan looks rather grim early Tuesday morning. ...Not that this is at all a change from her usual expression, but nobody will receive so much as a nod or a smile at breakfast. Near the end of the meal, she'll stand and address the others.]

For those of you who haven't been on guard duty yet, there's something we'd like to share with the rest of the class. In regards to our favorite cheerful murderer, we've encountered what I'll refer to as an organic defect.

His bindings have been removed repeatedly over the past three days. ...With a blade. I'm simply going to say that we've ensured there are no sharp objects on his person or in his room at all. Period.

[The meaning should be obvious.]

We need to discuss what to do. On a highly related note, there's one additional thing that Lithuania, Poland, and I would like to share.

[...She'll sit at this point and allow one of the others to speak.]

[Lithuania will speak up next, when prompted.]

The three of us received our letters the other day. They were all the same, and read as follows: "One of the players remaining is not what they seem. The game has been rigged to their benefit."

[He has his letter with im, so anyone who wants to look at it themselves can.]

We think it's referring to a mastermind of some sort, so we decided it was best to share the information with everyone so we can all try to think about it.

[Maybe instead of the weekly murder? That would be nice.]

So like, if you're thinking about murdering people... stop that and think about this instead.

[Chuckles darkly.]

And this was revealed to you as a prize?

Ho ho ho. It seems, at last, the game begins in earnest. He, or she, grows weary of awaiting our challenge.

( Spain was asleep. Or so it seemed. Is this what it feels like to wake up early for breakfast? Tired instead of hungry?

When Lithuania makes his announcement, he lifts his head some, and then sits up straight.

He looks surprised by the information but he won't say anything. )

I knew it. Someone among the remaining is working with the people who kidnapped us here...they may even be the mastermind behind it.

[Just like in Rhizome-9...no one can be trusted.]

But that means—

[as usual, Kaoru doesn't need prompting to connect the dots there. coupled with the letter reveal, there's more than enough shock to temporarily blot away the personal gloom cloud that seems ever-present lately.

wow though, suddenly Emerald wing doesn't feel like a safe place to be at night anymore.]

...Do you think that Mr. Spain is the player with the game rigged to his benefit?

...Not exactly.

I do think, perhaps, that part of his condition was to be of use to the one who is. He refused to explain his reasons for what he did, and of course, someone has an interest in seeing him free to kill again.

No way.

[He doesn't look too surprised to hear this; he and Susan already discussed the possibility after Touko's execution and it's been on his mind ever since.]

I doubt our mastermind would ever commit a murder themselves. The one thing they can't rig in this game are our votes - they show us the results and we'd know if someone's vote got changed. They wouldn't take that risk of getting caught.

Along that line, I don't think they'd ever let themselves fall to the deadweight or dispensable list either since there's be a large chance of getting targeted by a killer. [He glances at a page on his notebook.] Which means that Spain, Annie, Anya, Alice, Beat, May and Sonia are probably the least likely people to be the mastermind out of everyone remaining.

Ballroom

( During breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Spain can be found in the ballroom. During the breakfast hours, he can more often be found with his head on the table, or just dozing off while he waits to be taken back to his room. For lunch and dinner, he's awake and seems in good spirits for someone that's been ostracized from the group.

On Tuesday, notably after Susan and Lithuania's announcement, his food is left untouched, and he spends each meal looking lost in thought. )

Emerald 5

( Monday afternoon, anyone checking on Spain will find that his ropes have been mysteriously cut again. He hasn't left his room though, and instead, seems rather content to stay in bed and sketch in his notebook.

Otherwise, on Monday morning and evening and Tuesday, he'll be exactly where everyone left him. )

[ Monday afternoon, Rapture bursts in without warning. She stops mid-step to regard his mysteriously cut ropes, then him...and doesn't seem to care as she settles herself in the chair across from him. ]

Aren't you afraid constantly being tied up will leave you more susceptible to possession? [ A great first thing to ask to a still-alive murderer. ]

( He'll look up and smile to greet her before working on the drawing, )

... I'm afraid of unwelcome visitors but I think spirits are one of my lesser concerns this week.

[She pulls a chair next to Spain at dinner, perhaps the only time she actually eats with everyone else present.]

[Anyone walking past the drawing room after 8 PM on Monday will find that a short notice has been posted up there among the popularity rankings and list of tools. The notice reads:]

Congratulations to Sonia Nevermind for winning this week's sponsorship! Your prize is awaiting you in your room and your card has been updated accordingly.

[ Oh, yay! Time to run to her room to find out what it is. ]

Sonia Nevermind: Monday night, 8:05 pm, Amethyst room #2

[ Sonia dashes up all three floors, excited to find out what's been returned to her. She flings the door of her room open.

Two seconds later, there is a piercing shriek that blasts all through the manor.

There is a horse in her room. Okay, so it's her horse, and she's decked out in her usual livery, and to be specific the horse is a beautiful pure white Andalusian mare, but still. Her horse is in her room. On the third floor. HOW DID THIS EVEN HAPPEN.

Her door is open, so people might be able to hear the princess trying to calm the animal as she frets over a way to get her downstairs. ]

Ah! Miss Lithium! I assure you it shall be all right! Did they transport you here in a most unpleasant way? Shhhh.

[ Rapture is in her room and she can hear the shriek pretty darn well. So much that she practically stumbles out of her door to see what the commotion is. When she looks around, she notices that Sonia's door is open. ] Sonia? What's—

[ But she stops in the doorway, staring at the horse and slowly blinking. To be honest, she's witnessed stranger things so it's not that much of a huge surprise to her. Nevertheless, it takes her a moment to properly assess the situation. ] Is that a real horse?

[Oh, someone is shrieking over in princess wing! Nothing to worry about.

No, just kidding. He's coming running, reaching for something that seems to be hidden inside his coat, although it's not clear what.]

Merciless fiend, you strike so soon? Prepare to feel my...

[Wow, did someone in their wing actually die? No wait, it's too early in the week for a murder.

Either way Poland's peering into Sonia's room.]

[She instantly comes barreling into Sonia's room after hearing that shriek, kunai out and at the ready to fight whoever's attacking her.]

Stand back, Miss Sonia! I'll fend off whoever--

[being just one floor below, Kaoru definitely hears that impressive shriek... and since this is a murder manor and all, the first thoughts that come to mind are not at all pleasant. GONNA BOUND UP THE STAIRS RAPIDLY looking for signs of anything amiss at all, and when Sonia's open door is noticed, Kaoru flies toward it with the grim expectation of being met with a gory scene—]

Miss Nevermind—?! [...but no

there is only horse.]
