[The music room doors are open, but there doesn't appear to be any music playing.]

[In the foyer, the grandfather clock begins to chime. The tone is far deeper than the regular hourly chime, and it chimes thirteen times.

The players have discovered the body of Rin Kagamine in the music room. The investigation of her death has begun.]

[3:00: Rin had been in the Music Room. Nothing was awry.
3:15: Rin had gone. To her room, no doubt. Susan wasn't overly concerned. No one had ever been murdered in an unlocked room open to everyone else in the house in the middle of the afternoon. The fact that Wednesday morning had dawned with all of the deadweights and dispensables accounted for had been a relief; some part of her had thought, perhaps, that they could at last get through a week without incident.
3:30: The clock tolls.]

...No.

[Susan never panics, but she takes the steps two at a time anyway as she... energetically makes her way towards the music room. One glance inside is all she needs to confirm her suspicion.]

They can't have gone far.

[The murderer could retreat into one of the housing wings - or upstairs into the library or study to take a book and pretend to read. Having come from the parlor, Susan will quickly head upstairs to see if there is anyone or anything to be found in the library.]

[Once he finally got his bearings together and and realised that yes, there was a murder investigation going on he couldn't just investigate something totally unrelated, Latvia's first instinct was to go and find Belarus.

It wasn't too hard, he normally found her in or around the chapel when she wasn't in the house. Together they made their way up to the billiards room on what little hunch Latvia had]

I'm not sure, but I heard the murder took place in the music room... They might have come through here, do you think?

[He was a little unsure, he just didn't want to investigate alone, or investigate at all but his anxieties about becoming a dead weight were stronger than his anxieties about the case. Latvia makes a start by looking through the shelves for anything unusual]

... I'm sorry for dragging you away. I just thought we might be more likely to find something if there's two of us.

[Once the body has been identified (Alice had been her room before the chime of the clock) Alice recalled where Rin was and went up to the Opal Wing to take a look around her room. She made a mistake once of not checking Minatsuki's room, under the impression nothing good may come of it because the room was locked, and won't make it again. It's always best to see what the victim was doing last in the place they slept, just in case.

So she'll jiggle Rin's door knob to see if it opens.]

[After having heard about the incident, it occurred to Lithuania that, given there had been an instance of someone climbing the mansion walls before, he might as well check for signs someone did that again. So, he stands outside the manor looking up at the walls that lead to the music room. He'll check the ground around the area, too, just in case.]

[sure smells good on the ground floor today! likely because Kaoru has just finished setting out the last of several plates after SLAVING OVER A HOT STOVE!!! no okay, the stove this manor provides is actually much more convenient than anything cooked with before and the entire process had been a fun, if slightly messy, learning experience. after a bit of digging around a few proper ingredients had been found too, so the dishes are all very close to traditional Japanese ones (circa 1860...)

there are chicken cutlets plated alongside delicately sliced vegetables, a noodle dish, something that looks like a Westernized aburaage, and a few other smaller, single-portion plates.]

There! [A JOB WELL DONE. Kaoru turns with a smile toward Kanaya.] Where would you like me to begin?

Ballroom, 9am

S-So, um... [this is going to be slightly awkward]

...Does anyone know how to get smoke out of clothes?

Kitchen, afterwards

[well, here she is, trying. For once someone is not washing dishes in here god why couldn't the anachronisms extend to washing machines]

Courtyard, 2.15pm

[Fresh air. Fresh, not-smokey air is good. Hence, you can find Yuzu lounging on a bench (in plain view from the windows, since it's a Wednesday), flicking lazily through a romance novel]

Ballroom, 8am

[Belarus seems to eat stiffly and mechanically, eating quickly and clearly not intending to remain in the room long. Looks like you'll have to catch her attention if you want a morning chat.]

Parlor, 9am

[Guess who's flicking through the historical books. That's right, it's Belarus. And it really is flicking through; she's checking indexes and trying to find pages; it seems to be a pretty frustrating search]

Chapel, 1pm onward

[...yeah, sod that. Weary, confused and... well, irritable, she's retreated to the Chapel for some peace and quiet. You can find her at a bench, quietly at rest.]
