[If there's anyone else around, it isn't obvious. However, there are signs of a struggle - the piano bench has been pushed out of its usual position and there is sheet music on the ground. A layer of dust also seems to be settling in the air.]

Nggh...!! [Poland checks anyways taking note of the disorder and almost jumping out of his skin seeing a bust in the corner of the room. Yuzu's idea is slightly less terrifying, so he'd really prefer to go with that.]

Why wouldn't they tell someone then, usually whoever finds these things first
can't wait to run down the hall screaming about it. [The disturbed dust isn't lost on Poland though.] ...You think maybe they saw what happened?

...I don't know. But someone needs to stay in this room. Sapphire and Emerald are two closest wings, right?

[The dust is settling; there isn't much of it left in the air.]

[How long does it take dust to settle anyways-- that's probably a good experiment for the trial not so much now. focus.

Poland wields his baton like he would very much like it to be a rapier.]

Okay so you stay here and I'll like! Catch them or something!

We need to check the room first!

checking the piano seems the obvious starting point though; she'll head over here]

[Sheet music is set out, but has been knocked askew; the bench has also been pushed aside.]

[But they're getting away Yuzu!!! Although Poland doesn't really ant to face a murder alone even if he could catch up with them.

Poland moves to investigate the bench for anything weird.]

[they can't leave the scene though. They'll catch them at the Trial, anything else could make things... complicated. Also she doesn't want to be left along with a body damn you.

not forgetting the first trial, she'll check inside the grand piano, just in case]

[It just looks like it was pushed aside in the struggle. It's one of those benches you can store sheet music in, and the top is ever so slightly askew.

There's nothing inside the piano.]

[Pulling his sleeve down over his hand, Poland tips open the top of the bench.]

[Inside the bench are several books of music, as well as a cardboard box.]

[Because there can never be a shortage of books in this house. Poland checks the books quickly for anything out of place but his real interest is in the box. He pulls it out regarding it curiously.]

What's this?

[It's a small, crappy cardboard box. The bottom is covered in dust.]

[Still way more interesting than the books! Noting the dust on the bottom of it, Poland will attempt to open the box incase there's anything inside.]

[The box is mostly empty. Inside is a stoppered beaker and an unlabeled bottle.]

[Is there anything to see inside either the beaker or the bottle?]

[It's liquid. The contents of the bottle are a clear color, with a strong, bleach-like smell. The contents of the beaker are clear and has a smell similar to rubbing alcohol. Both are completely full, but there seems to be room in the box for more items.]

[The piano looks out onto the door to the hallway leading to the staircase; that door is open.]

[so either up the stairs or into Emerald then... she'd been on her way up to the Library after all...

Going to check the door; why leave it open anyway?]

[It's unclear why, but there is nothing unusual about it. Rin is near that door; she's positioned facing away from it, midway between the piano and the door.]

[hrm... close enough together for Rin to have potentially opened the door? But if she was stabbed through the front that's probably a no...

If she was running for that door, that must mean... glancing back at the other door into Sapphire]

[That door is shut.]
