This post will cover the weekend period from the end of trial Friday evening to early Sunday evening, when new incentives will be announced. No murders will take place over this time.

...Is it?

[ That dampens her mood a little. ] This is such a lovely place... I hate that such terrible things are made to happen here.

[godwhisperer]

[Well, now he made her sad. He's not doing well with this. He gives, as a reply, only a non-committal sound, and instead leads her past the conservatory, around towards the courtyard on the other side. Finally, he speaks again.]

In my opinion...though it does pose a certain risk to so frequently occasion somewhere so remote, to alter my own inclinations out of fear of treachery would be to give in all the more. So I will not allow such treachery to become a consideration when choosing what actions I will take.

...Yes. It's... hard to think that someone may be lurking in any corner, ready to kill you. And maybe it's not a good idea to wander around alone, yes... But I think, of the people here... You're an unlikely target.

[godwhisperer]

Feh, the so-called popularity rankings disgust me. I have no need of such assurances, as I may defend myself against anyone who dares defy me. Even such cowardly tactics such as poison, I am immune to...

[He trails off, distracted by some stray thought that seems to trouble him. But he speaks again; these pauses and silences just seem to be part of having a conversation with him.]

Do you believe yourself a likely target?

Huh? [ She looks up at him, surprised, then looks down again. ]

Well... um... Yes. I don't think I look particularly threatening compared to the other contestants here, and I haven't got abilities like being able to detect others or being stronger than the rest. So I... I don't even think I would be surprised if someone targeted me. But... I don't intend to lay back and die. I'd never allow that.

[godwhisperer]

Then you have an advantage over those who believe themselves too powerful or important or loved to have fear. It is like my Dark Gods...there are beasts who affect a far more imposing presence, but do not have as honed instincts for survival.

[teenspirit]

[ She nods gently. ] That's how my mother raised me to think. I don't want to live unrealistically... There's no way I would survive here if I denied reality.

[godwhisperer]

Mm.

[He's leading her down the path towards the stables, which are starting to come into view.]

Going forth, all must be cautious. I believe only lesser villains would make their move so early.

Speaking of the dark gods... Where are they?

[godwhisperer]

[He tugs at his scarf, and two little heads poke up from inside - Sun-D and Cham-P. Maga-G pokes his head out from Gundam's coat sleeve, and Gundam, with his other hand, pats his left pocket.]

Jum-P takes his rest. The others eschew the brightness of the sun as it is unfettered by walls or shade, but listen with approval upon our speech.

[ Sob oh no it's too cute. She waves at Sun-D, who she unfairly favorites. And Sonia is going to ruin the moment by asking a really awkward question. ]

What does it feel like when they scamper all over your body inside your clothes!

[godwhisperer]

[The question does not make him feel awkward; he just looks pleased.]

I have become accustomed to the sensation. The scratch of their claws or the tickle of their furry bodies no longer may provoke sensations of surprise or alarm.

[ Why is this hilarious ]

The scurrying sensation of a little creature climbing up your spine and invading your pants does not hurt at all? I am amazed!

[godwhisperer]

They primarily prefer my coat or scarf, as it is easier to nest in. I wear clothing with excess fabric for their comfort.

[That seems to explain it in his eyes. Thank god they don't scamper around in his pants, man.]

The part on your information card that says that they are able to obey complex commands- that part is true, right?

[godwhisperer]

They have many abilities...that card makes it sound as though they perform mere parlor tricks, but they are intelligent and cunning.

I will demonstrate their abilities. Hmm, let us see...

[teenspirit]

Okay! [ She sits down by the pond because she assumes he's going to have to set them down. ]

[He stays standing, as though thinking for a moment.]

Hm, hm, hm...

[The hamsters scamper into his palms and he watches them as though they're about to show off something incredibly terrifying.]

[godwhisperer]

[He holds out his hand and the two hamsters immediately scamper down his coat and pant leg to the ground. They run to a small cluster of flowers and begin to chew through the stems of one. Sun-D takes the flower in her mouth, Maga-G lifts her up, and she jumps into the air, does a backflip, and scampers up Sonia's dress to drop the flower there.

BARF.]

[teenspirit]

[ WOW, BARF.

Sonia could not look happier. She turns bright pink, though, and an expression of shock and alarm crosses her features. ]

F-for me? Thank you! I will cherish it! [ It seems like she's talking to the hamster, but she's looking at Gundam, and it's all quite barf. ]

[godwhisperer]

Through that ability, they can collect any item you would wish! Plants for food, poisons, or spells! That one may be brewed along with other ingredients to create a potion that will restore magical energy after spellcasting!

[Okay, so maybe he didn't intend that to be as adorable a display as it seemed. Or did he? No, he probably didn't.]

You see? Such is their power!

[teenspirit]

[ She looks down at the flower. ] I'll think about the potion. [ No she won't. She puts it in her hair. ]

Can they really tell which plants are poisonous? That's amazing. It's something that could save a life in a situation like this.

[godwhisperer]

...Only plants they would recognize. In the lands I have traveled with them, they have learned to be wary of certain plants, but they would not know every one that exists here.

However, their sense of smell is incredibly powerful. Were there any unusual odor in anything I or they intended to ingest, they would detect it instantly. Their hearing is similarly without flaw, so any foe who sought to use deception against us would be swiftly revealed.

[teenspirit]

[ She reaches out to try to pet Sun-D. ]

Isn't it cruel... that they brought them here with you...

[godwhisperer]

[Sun-D will happily allow herself to be pet, while Maga-G will scamper back up Gundam's coat. He looks a little uncomfortable with the statement, and strokes the sleeping Jum-P with his thumb.]

I have no intention of allowing any harm to come to them.
