[ She brightens considerably, because past the strange wording he's still inviting her to join him after lunch. ]

Oh, yes! Of course. To watch one another's backs... yes, I think that is a good idea. And with your hamsters, that's six sets of eyes! We will be just fine.

[godwhisperer]

Yes. Should it concern you, I have determined to make no move this week, nor any other.

I... also resolve not to do any such thing. [ She trails off, looking suddenly sobered by the reminder. ]

[godwhisperer]

[He makes a non-committal motion in response. He takes her response as discomfort, though he isn't sure what part of what he said is causing it.]

Very well, though it is of no concern to me. I have my own reasons for taking such a vow, but I would not...I would not expect any individual to remain free of temptation.

[His voice goes a little quiet.]

I imagine there are many who have fates they wish to change.

It doesn't do to live with regrets. [ She says this with sudden conviction. ] If you always regret the past, then you will never be able to look to the future.

[godwhisperer]

...Yes. Wise words.

Even to change a terrible fate from the past would be to abandon the resolution to look forward. Our villain this week will be of the cowardly sort.

I cannot think of anyone like that... But then again, we hardly know others in this place.
