This post will cover the weekend period from the end of trial Friday evening to early Sunday evening, when new incentives will be announced. No murders will take place over this time.

...What will happen if you... [ It doesn't really seem okay to ask, so she has trouble finishing the sentence. ]

I am not in fear for my life. Though it occurs to me that to be falsely chosen as a villain...

I have made arrangements all the same, lacking though they are. But the beasts I have left behind at home...all I can hope for is no harm will befall them.

A villain? Who would choose you as such?

[godwhisperer]

Hah.

Villain suits me well. I have never claimed to live my life as anything else. If they mistake me for a tiger of another stripe, I could not fault their judgment. I am far less innocent than the one who was condemned already.

...Really? Have you done worse than murder, Tarou-san?

[godwhisperer]

...Your concept of morality is difficult for a being such as myself to comprehend. I have killed before, but always for specific reasons. Those deaths were not crimes to myself but acts of mercy, and would not have been considered crimes to mankind, I think.

[Yeah, he means he's put animals to sleep before. Still, he says it completely seriously, and in his own view of the world it doesn't seem like an inaccurate statement to make.]


Yet much of what I believe to be despicable is lawful in your world, as well. But I am indeed a being of great evil, for reasons I would not be able to explain, not yet.

I do not maintain any pretense I would not commit murder to further my own ends, or claim to not be so wicked as to deserve suspicion.

[ Oh jesus Gundam everything you say just makes you seem like a better guy. ]

Mmm... That's fine. I accept that. [ She pets Sun-D again. ] Won't you sit down?

[godwhisperer]

[He nods, and, adjusting his coat carefully so no one gets squashed, sits himself down on the ground. He maintains a little space from her, a little over a foot, and sets the other two awake hamsters down on the grass to scamper around.]

Despite my wicked nature, you are content to remain? If my intentions were to end your life...

[This is getting into some Twilight shit now.]

[ Oh my god it's fucking Twilight.

She looks at him and says what Bella would say, which is also what Sonia would say right now. ]

I'm not afraid.

[ It's not that she's condescending at him, or defying him, it's that she thinks he has alternate reasons for suggesting such a thing, and those reasons probably have nothing to do with thinking about killing her. She wants to trust in that. ]

[godwhisperer]

No, you are not. To be aware of my power and to refuse to bend...

[He chuckles to himself a little.]

I believe you are a more dangerous foe than you yourself are aware.

[teenspirit]

[ Sonia smiles. ]

I told you so. [ And she leans close for a second, almost close enough for their shoulders to touch, but then she pulls away. ]

[godwhisperer]

[He frowns a little when she does that. He did almost want her to, for whatever strange reason the idea doesn't fill him with the disquiet the idea of contact usually does. But he isn't able to forget he can't be touched, or he would poison her.]

...Do not let your guard down. I would not harm you intentionally, but I would not be able to control it should my defenses fail.

[ It's okay, Edward Cullen... it's gonna be alright.......... ]

I believe you could. Are you not the mighty tamer of the Four Dark Gods? Someone who has wrestled with the gods themselves... I think he could control it.

[Oh no, he's turning all red at that comment.]

Hrrk - perhaps...perhaps it would be possible, at least if...

[No, it's too much all at once. He doesn't move, but he goes tense, like he's about to.]

What is it that you're trying to achieve?

[ Edward's reaction alarms Bella, who hugs Sun-D close to her chest in surprise. ]

Trying to... achieve? Excusez-moi?

[godwhisperer]

[He honestly seems really agitated, and not in a sexy vampire way.]

Why...why are you acting like this towards me? What are your intentions in this, I don't...

[ 'I think you're fascinating and you need a friend and I admire all of your skills and being around you makes my stomach feel weird' would sound even more stupid out loud than it does in her head, so Sonia tries a different track. ]

I told you. We share a special connection, do we not? As future classmates...

I want... to be your friend.

Friend?

[He really seems shocked for a moment. He's not used to having people who want to be around him, he isn't sure how to respond to this or whether to trust it.]

[But he calms down after a moment. He wants to accept this, which is enough of a step for him. But it's hard to trust what she means, whether she means something like an advantage, or whether she's actually interested in him. He wouldn't think badly of her, if she felt alone and frightened here and chose him as support, but she wouldn't know how seldom he's had any sort of connection.]

Do you mean...do you propose something like an alliance?

[ She looks a little hurt by that. Her gaze drops down to the hamster cupped in her hands. If she weren't so determined about this- determined that she's right about him, convinced that what she thinks about him has to be true- then it would sound like a cold dismissal. And maybe that's what it's supposed to be, but. ]

No... That's not what I mean at all. [ She brushes a finger over the hamster's soft back. ] Allies exist out of convenience; they are bonds forged by contract, and nothing more. And they are easily dissipated.

Friends. Not allies.

[godwhisperer]

I...I see.

[He does notice she looks a little hurt, and that wasn't his intention.]

You must understand that it is sometimes difficult for me to comprehend the intentions of humans.

[And that's not a lie or an exaggeration at all. But for the moment, the fact that he doesn't want to disappoint her or hurt her feelings trumps the reservations he feels about trusting someone at all, let alone in a place like this. It's easy with animals, or even with children like May, to be sure he understands, but it's more of a leap of faith with someone like her. So it's quietly and cautiously that he replies.]

I suppose that...I suppose that would be acceptable.

[teenspirit]

[ She feels immensely relieved at that. It's a struggle not to smile as much as she is. The struggle is futile. ]

H...hey, do not call me a human! I told you, I am going to reveal my singular powers eventually.

[godwhisperer]

Of course, how could I forget?

[He smiles a little into his scarf, quietly pleased.]

[ They're stretching the page now but this is Twilight and we all know each book is like 600 pages long. ]

You'll never forget again once you see me in action! Isn't that right, Sun-D? [ She looks at the hamster as if expecting a response. ]
