[And then--nothing. He looks, suddenly, like he's never felt an emotion in all his sixteen hundred years of life.

Dimly, mentally wading through static, he registers the state of the room. He checks behind the door he broke open before approaching Poland's body.]

[He's extremely pale, though that might be the illness, and his face especially is cold. His eyes are wide open, and there are a few spots of blood in them. There are no visible wounds on his body, aside from some light bruising around the front of his neck.]

[vytis]

[Lithuania pauses for perhaps a minute. Then he turns around and goes to the foyer, calling out loudly enough to hopefully be heard at least through the first floor.]

I need two more people to come into the dining room, please.

[His tone might be mistaken for calm, but really it's more like he can't get his voice to inflect anymore.]

[humanic]

[Stiles is just about to head towards the ballroom when he hears Lithuania's voice. He'll come rushing towards the foyer with panic on his face, but it fades to a confused wariness when he sees how calm Lithuania seems.]

Uh...this would be the time when you give me a heads-up on how badly I should be freaking out. Is someone dead or do you just need an escort to the bathroom?

Poland's dead.

[So is Lithuania's tact.]

[hollowheart]

You're joking. [Her voice is as flat as Poland's, though.]

[humanic]

Poland--

[The name doesn't even make sense to him for a moment - and then it hits him and he staggers back as if someone's punched him in the gut.]

No...no, no, goddammit, no!

[vytis]

I wouldn't joke about that. [Lithuania feels like it's his fault. All his brain knows how to do is accept that guilt as the truth, so he does. He feels a little like a robot.

He remembers Poland liked Stiles.]

You don't have to look, Stiles.

[hollowheart]

[This is the most awkward hug in the history of awkward hugs, but Annie pulls Stiles to her--partly discouraging him from going to look. At least not yet.]

Lithuania, could you get Susan?

[humanic]

[He appreciates the hug as awkward as it is, even leaning into it while he gets a hold of himself. After a few moments he pushes away, a determined set to his shoulders.]

Fuck that, I'm going with you guys. He was my friend - I owe him that much at least.

[inthebones]

...I'm here.

[Susan speaks quietly as she appears in the doorway. For having constantly fought with Poland, the expression on her face is quite melancholy as well.]

Three people need to look. That's all. If either of you feel like you can't examine the scene, don't feel the need to.

[She has a feeling neither Lithuania or Stiles will go, though.]

...Otherwise, I'll bring the pills to those too ill to come down and inform them of the news.

Lithuania - can we speak tonight? Before the trial?

[vytis]

I need to finish searching the room. [Emotion, finally--anger. Not at Annie, but one might get the idea that, if they can uncover who did this at the trial, Lithuania may have to be prevented from strangling them himself before the voting can conclude.

After a moment, he nods at Susan.] Alright.

[hollowheart]

[She heads into the room, arms folded over her chest as she forces herself to look at the body as just another dead body--but there's no mistake that Poland is no longer alive.]

[humanic]

[He follows behind, swallowing when he sees Poland's body. In a sick way, he's almost a little relieved; so many of the murders had been gruesome and awful. While he hasn't examined the body close-up yet, at least at first sight it didn't seem like he might have suffered too much.

First things first though, he'll go to the window and throw open the curtains so they can get more light in the room.]

[The light in the room doesn't change much - there's still the clock smashed on the ground, some water on the table, some crumpled scrap under the table. The crossbow is set up on the table, unloaded, pointing towards a wall. There is also a crossbow bolt in the wall above the mantle.]

[vytis]

[Lithuania moves to Poland's body again to examine under his shirt for bruising.]

Someone should check to see if Alice and Spain are dead--that crossbow didn't appear out of thin air.

[No bruising under his shirt, aside from the light bruising around his neck.]

[vytis]

[Lithuania--hesitates, next. Smooths down Poland's hair a little insistently, and apologizes quietly in Polish.

Then he examines Poland's eyes more closely before opening Poland's mouth to see if there's anything inside.]

[His eyes are glassy and have pricks of blood in them. His mouth is a little sticky with dried saliva. The back of his throat is congested with mucus.]

[vytis]

[Lithuania shifts Poland away from the door to lay him, gently, on the ground, then checks the rest of his body, front and back, for any more injuries.]

[humanic]

[While he does that, Stiles will go to the door with the bolt in it and examine the bolt and the lock.]

Hey Lithuania, was this door already broken down when you got here?

[productions]

[The bolt had been shot through the lock.

Poland doesn't seem to have any other injuries.]

[vytis]

No, I had to break it down. [Lithuania will leave Poland's body for the moment to examine the clock. Maybe when it got smashed it got stopped at the time it was smashed, or something like that.]

[humanic]

You couldn't get in through the other door? [With a from, Stiles heads back to the window to check if it's locked or looks like it's been opened recently from the dust.]

[The clock's hands are stopped at about 10:58.

The window is locked. It's not possible to tell whether it's been opened recently. However, Stiles may notice a large damp spot on the back of the curtain.]
