This post will cover the weekend period from the end of trial Thursday evening to early Sunday evening, when new incentives will be announced. No murders will take place over this time.

Relax, I'm good at keeping secrets. Should be one of the things under my skills actually, given the number of times I've had to hide something.

[He pouts.] Aw, come on! Don't tell me you wouldn't have done the same if I'd been a suspect and it'd been my room you were looking through.

Hey, it's the twenty-first century. A guy can get in pretty big trouble hanging to outdated sexist notions like that. Women and men can be equally violated these days -- and wow, that did not come out the way I wanted it to.

[He snorts.] Go ahead, you can't possibly be as terrifying as my last English teacher.

...As it so happens, it is the Century of the Fruitbat, and in the Century of the Fruitbat, young men continue to respect the privacy of women, so far as I've seen. And I'd be willing to wager that even here in this house, it is not the twenty-first century.

[Susan actually looks slightly annoyed to be described as 'less terrifying' than his last English teacher.]

I suppose I shall simply hope there's no need for anyone else to go through my drawers.

Century of the what now?

[Sadly, until she starts performing ritual human sacrifices, she will always be in this category. Even a skull is less scary than what his old English teacher's face could turn into.]

I could always volunteer my services again if you get put on the suspect list. Might as well since I've already seen it, right?

[inthebones]

[Susan is quite ready to perform sacrifices if it means she is awarded the title she deserves.]

...That's an an entirely logical yet extremely annoying suggestion. I suppose I shall have to.

[She is about to add 'provided you're still alive' before she shuts her mouth. It was probably best not to joke about those matters.]

'Entirely logical yet extremely annoying' is basically my motto. Have it on my dating profile and everything.

[Oh well, if she won't say it, he'll say it for her.] Assuming I'm still alive for that, of course. Though if immunity really is just based on how much we talk, I might actually have a better shot of surviving this thing than I thought.

Let's hope the rating system isn't a loop, and you won't surge all the way out of immunity into the opposite end.

Truth be told, I would rather allow someone else the honors. I'm more equipped to defend myself than most.

[humanic]

Hahaha. Anyone ever tell you you should look into motivational speaking? You'd be a hit at parties.

Cool, I'll take it if you don't want it. [He makes a face.] Though weren't you just listing off the many ways we're unprepared for murder death? Hard to defend yourself from poisonings and whatever.

[inthebones]

You already have immunity. And I wouldn't give it to you first, anyway.

And of course you can be prepared for poisonings. Be in the ballroom when the food appears, and don't touch anything that anyone else has approached before you. Don't eat any food that anyone else prepares for you; I don't care if it's impolite. Wait until you're finished eating before you use the facilities. And don't leave your drinks lying about.

When you open a door, pause and don't walk in immediately. When you go down the stairs, check for trip wires. Make wide turns so you can see what's around a corner, walk purposefully but carefully, and for goodness' sakes, if someone clasps something over your mouth, don't inhale.

Well, as long as I'm not last, I'm happy.

[His eyebrows slowly go up.] ...wow. Mind if I start taking notes on this?

I suppose I'm equipped with something I would call common sense, except it never seems to be very common.

Have you honestly never thought of these things?

[humanic]

Well, the food stuff's pretty obvious, but I never thought about checking the stairs for wires. Usually, the things trying to kill me aren't that subtle or sneaky, so my plans don't really have to go beyond 'oh god what's that thing with all the teeth oh god get away from it'.

[inthebones]

[A slight sigh]

Bernkastel has set a troubling precedence, hasn't she? I suppose our next murder will involve three locked rooms all overlaid on top of each other.

But yes, perhaps trip wires on the stairs is over-thinking it a bit. I wouldn't go rushing down them, anyway - even without wires involved, bones and necks have been broken in the past.

Look on the bright side. Maybe everyone will be so intimidated by having to come up with a better plan that they won't even bother trying.

Yeah, but that was always a risk for me even before coming here.

[inthebones]

Unless, of course, they consult the extensive collection of books at our disposal that more or less detail how to commit the perfect murder.

And now that I think of it, perhaps the inhabitants of Emerald Wing would prefer to take baths... elsewhere.

[Susan wouldn't mind using it, but she suspects most people would be rather averse to the idea.]

See, that's where they'll run straight into my trap, because I'm gonna read them all first. And trust me, no one reads as fast as I do when hyped up on adrenaline, caffeine, and mortal terror. I went through every single goddamn site about werewolves in a night. Even the furry ones. Do you know how many sites there are out there about werewolf sex? Because I do, and the answer's way too freaking many.

[He shudders.] Yeah. Who even needs baths, right? A five minute shower should do the trick. Or jumping into the pond, that's a nice and public place.

[inthebones]

How many sites... werewolves gather together for sex?

Strangely enough, I never thought to ask them. I expect there's quite a few in Uberwald. ...Is there a reason you went to observe these? ...Curiosity about werewolf circumcision?

Anyway, perhaps we should offer our own washrooms for their usage. ...Taking supervised baths never harmed anyone.
