[the desk is as neat as just about everything else. there are more sheets of paper inside and a couple other bunches of flowers, less ornately arranged than the desk ones. it's clear that these ones were picked much earlier than the ones on the desk; while they are not as dried out as Minatsuki's from week 2, they have wilted a fair amount.
the letter opener and pocket knife are also inside. the initialed handkerchief is folded neatly beneath them; none of the items look used. as Kaoru was a member of the chloroform disposal brigade, the vial of chloroform was dumped and tossed weeks ago.
