Didn't the card say something about playing God? Either someone's a huge egomaniac or... they're familiar enough with Gods to actually want to be one.

I'm the only one I know of who has a passing familiarity with gods, but I'm not on the list today. I don't know that being an egomaniac has much to do with wanting to resurrect someone dear to you or being afraid of death.
