week 6 - trial

[At 9 AM precisely, the old grandfather clock chimes once again, and the doors to the drawing room are opened. They will remain open until everyone has come inside, after which they will shut behind them. It is not possible to leave on your own, although perhaps if you have a specific purpose the hostess will allow you to go, as long as you are accompanied by a partner.
The room is set up comfortably, with several tables by the fireplace set out to assist with the trial. The Hostess will also remain in a seat near the fireplace, next to the scales on the mantle. At lunch, the doors will open to bring in a large meal on an automatically rolling buffet, and at 3 PM, tea and finger sandwiches will be served. You'll be able to enjoy the trial in comfort, of course, but the information cards set out on tables will not allow you to forget your true purpose here.
At 7 PM, the trial will adjourn for the day. Players will be escorted by the Hostess to the ballroom, where dinner and wine will be served until 10 PM, at which point players will be required to return to their wings in groups with their wingmates and will be locked in their bedrooms until 8:30 AM the following morning.]

There's a reason my alibi sheet says I was avoiding certain rooms this week okay so you don't know everything....

[ Is that a call back to Ukraine's trial "execution?" It may or may not be, but with the way Rapture says it... it sounds like it has implications behind it. ]

Then follow me.
[Because he can't leave the room alone anyways.]

Still doesn't prove anything since you could easily be faking it, but... alright. I'll go.
Foyer
He flicks the lights off so they're standing in the dark, aside from the flashlight spookily illuminating his face. ]
You don't need special powers or ties to the dead to notice it. The totally haunted atmosphere that's over taken the house. The restless spirits of those who've like already died come back to haunt those who've managed to survive! Strangling people in the drawing room! Blood oozing from the kitchen ceiling!
One such ghost resides right here in this parlor. And I like, totally saw her here.
Kanaya's back from the depths of hell and here to get revenge!

It is an unfortunate scenario for someone who is so attuned to the astral plane. She is glad Poland is putting on such a performance, considering more than half of the people in the mansion are personifications of lemons. ]
Do you think she's still here? [ She leans in closer as the flashlight now illuminates he face. ] Maybe we should try to contact her and see who she wants to get revenge on!

She might be. Which is why I won't be going back into this room until I'm convinced her spirit is gone for good.
But that won't be necessary. Because I already know who's the one she wants revenge on...

[This would be a great time for a lighting flash or thunder clap.]

Her role is being a vampire, isn't it? Maybe she isn't gone for good... everyone knows the only way to kill a vampire for good is put a stake through their heart. For all we know, she could still very well be alive! Perhaps she's taking out those who have wronged the most first...

[Poland gestures into the parlor.]
I mean. If you like, dare.
[Poland's not stepping anywhere near that door though so Rapture is on her own.]

[ She regards Poland for a moment with a smirk, before she steps into the parlor. It takes her a moment to spot it, but she finds the poker practically hurled into the wall. She reaches out to tap a finger against it, enthralled. ]
It's just like the murder scene! Looks like she still has her "vampire strength."

Attempted murder... [The incident flashes back and Poland swallows thickly just remembering how closely he'd come to... "having his brains on the wall." He flips the lights in the Foyer back on, glancing at the fireplace from his spot in the hall looking pale.]
...

[ She smirks and then turns to see Poland looking terrified in the foyer. ] You really are spooked about this, aren't you?

When you have searing hot poker chucked at your face and you're saved by the person you hate the most, let me know how you feel about it!

Poland's tucks his head and mumbles out the name...]
...annie.
no subject
[ The sentence has many meanings.
Nearly everyone hates Annie. Rapture doesn't care about her either way, but she thinks it makes great conflict amongst the others. ]
Wait so... Kanaya or Kanaya's ghost attacked you by throwing a poker at you, but you were saved at the last minute by Annie?
Maybe you should start considering yourself a lucky person. Every set of three is complete!

What part of this week has been lucky for me? Like seriously I want to know.

If you're not guilty, then you don't have anything to worry about. Everybody knows what happens when someone gets away with a "murder" now, so they're careful with the trials... though it makes for good final entertainment in the last moments.
no subject
It's not a question of if. I'm not guilty. [But neither was Ukraine. And when in doubt, what's to stop them from throwing another nation up on the chopping block.]
no subject
Then there's nothing to worry about. If the evidence doesn't speak for itself... [ She cannot help but give a mysterious smile that also looks slightly like a grin. ] ...the profile will.
no subject
I'd rather rely on the evidence, no offense.

Other than being gifted with foresight passed down from ancestor to ancestor that is.
