[Alice is dead tired, having gotten very little sleep as a result of the nightmares she's been having. She went down to the ballroom for breakfast and did notice Clyde not being around there, but she tried to not let it nag her. Though by 10:30am when she hasn't seen any sight of him, she feels restless and paranoid enough to go check his room. And so she knocks at his door.]

Clyde? Are you in there?

[There's no response. The door is slightly ajar.]

[allice]

...

I'm coming in. Please don't be dead.

[She slowly pushes the door open and peeks inside the room.]

[productions]

[Sorry, he's dead. Clyde's body lies face-up on the floor in a pool of blood.]

[allice]

[She opens her mouth at the sight and winces visibly before moving her head from the door and closing it shut. Give her a moment.]

God fucking dammit, I hate this house.

[Ok, moment over.

She opens the door wide, steps in and closes it behind her. She walks over to the body, keeping shy of the blood pool, and looks down at his corpse. Frankly she'd rather alert people, but she doesn't want to risk the killer coming back while she's gone to mess with the crime scene any further.]

[It appears as though he's been stabbed repeatedly in the chest and his throat has been slit. Next to his body lies a card.]

[allice]

[She frowns. What a gruesome way to go. Reminds her of...

No, focus, no time to dwell on bad memories. Had enough of that at night. She bends down and reaches to pick up the card.]

[It's a business card belonging to one Reiko Aya. The corner of it is soaked with blood.]

[AND HERE COMES TIMELY KAORU climbing the stairs to check on Clyde too, since they keep a similar schedule and a Wednesday absence is never a good thing. just gonna knock on that door ey]

Mr. Clyde? Are you awake?

( Sorry, Clyde.

Spain rarely wakes up early and when he does, it isn't often enough to notice everyone's morning habits. When he wakes up this lovely Wednesday morning after a rather awful night, he begins to head to the bathroom to get himself ready for the day when--

[wow Spain 10:30, not too shabby! it is a true tragedy that no cute girls will come knocking if he was ever missing past breakfast, huh. the prices we pay for sleeping in...]

Mr. Spain... [LOOKING DISTRAUGHT, THOUGH, sorry no cheerful greetings or good mornings for you today.] Mr. Clyde wasn't at breakfast this morning.

( At least Spain woke up this morning to see said cute girls tbh.

...Maybe he wasn't hungry?

[Alice jolts her head when she hears the knocking so fast her neck might snap, nearly having a heart attack from the sound, and puts the card back on an area of Clyde's body without blood on it. Spending any time not answering them might make her look suspicious, what with the dead guy in the room. At least her bandaged up body is still clean of blood thanks to careful maneuvering. She then moves to open the door half way to check who it is.]

Kaoru. Spain.

[Two more people. That means the clock will go off.]

...I'm sorry. Clyde is...

[She opens the door from her side the whole way through and steps aside so they can see his corpse.]

[souredsweet]

[Kaoru had been just about to say how unlikely that is since Clyde is a bonafide hoover, but only winds up jumping in surprise when the door is opened by someone who isn't Clyde. it really is a good thing no blood had gotten on her, since that's the first thing Kaoru quickly looks for after seeing the corpse.]

Ah, that's— [no time to be upset just yet, though, which Kaoru well knows. a quick glance toward Spain and then Alice again; someone has to do the rounds and two are already here to look, so:]

...I will alert the others.

( His eyes widen when Alice opens the door. )

Alice-- ( He even drops the usual 'miss' out of surprise. And as if things couldn't get more exciting this morning, there it is. Clyde's body. )

R-right. ( A nod towards Kaoru and then a careful look at the body on the floor before he takes a step in, ) How long has it been since you found him?

[allice]

I've only been here a couple minutes when you guys knocked. Barely got a good look at him yet. I got worried about Clyde and came to check...but found him like this.

[pasodoble]

( Face up in a pool of his own blood.

Spain will kneel down next to Clyde's body as close as he can without stepping in the blood. A slit throat and plenty of stab wounds... )

How did they get in, though? ( Thinking out loud and his mind immediately goes to skeleton key. ) Let's look for his keys.

[allice]

You do that, I'm going to check his drawer. Oh and be careful - I found one of Reiko's business cards on the ground near the blood pool while I was checking and put it on Clyde's body to make sure it wouldn't get damaged.

[That said, time to check his drawer!]

Reiko's business--

( ... Casually going to trace a cross on his self before searching Clyde's devilish costume. Maybe they're in his hands? Or his pockets? Does this costume even have pockets? )

[The drawer is currently locked. The keys aren't on his body, but if Spain turns his head, he'll find them against the wall by the door.]

[pasodoble]

( Man he just wasted his time touching a dead body for this. When he doesn't find anything, he'll take a step back mentally and look around the room.

Where else could the keys be?

It's then that he sees them on the floor and he'll go to pick them up. Is there anything unusual, are they both there? If everything is okay, he'll offer them to Alice since it looks like she's trying to search the the desk drawer, )

[There doesn't seem to be anything unusual about the keys.]

[allice]

[She takes the keys with a smile and opens up the drawer.]

You know, I just had a thought: if Clyde was killed in his room, it means whoever killed him had to be wearing their costume in some way with the rules. Maybe checking suspects clothes can show blood somehow.

[She says while unlocking the drawer to peek inside.]

[The only thing in the drawer is an empty bottle of chloroform.]

Hm. His knife and letter opener are missing. Maybe the killer took them to murder him? Spain, do you mind checking if he has the knife and letter opener on his body?
