This post will cover the weekend period from the end of trial Friday evening to early Sunday evening, when new incentives will be announced. No murders will take place over this time.

[Kaoru might have; Yuzu had still voted for Altman. She'd thought there was no way for Sire- Reiko to be a suspect. She'd been wrong again... at least everyone else hadn't made her mistake.

Yuzu sighs, blinking wearily, looking up from her collection of notes sprawled across several notebooks by this point.]

[if Kaoru thought it would help, it might have been mentioned that Beat almost got first vote, but... what's done is done.]

You do not need to thank me. [Kaoru's gaze flicks toward one of the notebooks in vague curiosity for a second, but drifts soon after to a nearby chair which is then gestured to.] Do you mind if I join you for a small while?

You went out of your way. [and someone checked on her, which is reassuring in its own way... not that they got the next murder that quickly. The next incentive isn't even up yet. Either way, Yuzu glances at the chair and gives a quiet nod]

It's fine.

[Yuzu's notes really are a rambling collection of ideas in a mess of an order given new points are added as she thinks of them and old ones crossed out]

gonna pull that chair right on over then, perching on the edge in a way that, while elegant, implies Kaoru doesn't plan on staying long. it would be rude to interrupt someone working so hard, after all.]

still, if you get sick, that's like sticking a big "murder me I can't run fast or fight well" target on your back! ...or not, but a little healthy paranoia certainly never did anyone wrong in a place like this.]

I am doing as well as I can, given the situation. I thank you for your concern. [Kaoru's head dips momentarily.] ...If there is anything at all that I can do to help you, though, please do not hesitate in letting me know.

[she's "special skills: none" to begin with; if she gets on the deadweight or disposable lists she knows she's screwed.

Yuzu can only slump.]

Mm... Miss Sto Helit and I were discussing it earlier. These weekly tragedies are... making it quite impossible to even try looking for a way to escape, aren't they?

[it's, in essence, a pretty effective trap.]

[Kaoru nods once, brow furrowed.]

The system that they have set up is self-containing. It is, quite unfortunately, very effective.

...We should have kept focused on that the entire time. [Yuzu groans]

It is a difficult thing to do when so many are fearful for their lives, though.

[as loathe as Kaoru is to even admit that much, it's certainly become an undeniable truth.]

...And because of that, we can't even work together.

[souredsweet]

They have certainly thought this out...

[TO SAY THE LEAST. Kaoru sighs before pulling one of the cups from the tray.] I will try to use as much time as possible to continue my research, then.

[terriblesister]

[she nods]

Please.

Please take care in the meantime, Miss Aihara, if you decide to do the same.

[Yuzu seems a little picked up at least after this; offering a smile]

And then lets get out of here!

[Kaoru seems to note that much, and the smile that Yuzu gets in return is encouraging.]

I will look forward to our success. [in order to keep good on that and start looking again, Kaoru rises from the chair and nods.] Then, I will leave you to your work. I will be just across the hall if you need anyone.
