The room you're in is luxurious and comfortable, but there is a musty feeling of disuse and decay in the air. Still, you've provided with new wardrobe perfectly tailored for you, a key ring that will unlock your bedroom door, so surely you're welcome to explore the manor?

Have a look around and make yourselves at home. You'll soon find you're not alone, but if any among you knows the secrets of this place, they aren't speaking.]

Eh?! [ Suddenly her demeanor changes. She balls her hands into fists. ] Yo, if this is some kind of Ao Oni situation, please tell me the rules, game master...!

[godwhisperer]

[He reacts in shock. How dare this woman switch the genre out from under him? Perhaps his fighting tournament assessment was premature...]

You mistake me, ignorant one! I am no game master. I was summoned to this place to bring this world to ruin and force the game master to become a player in his own game.

Now reveal yourself - challenger or peon?

[ Did he... just call her ignorant... ]

I am no peon! I am Sonia Nevermind! And I know not what brought me here.

[godwhisperer]

[No, he called her an ignorant peon. This is how you learn to talk to girls when your only friends are the people who read your wizard blog. Or maybe this is just how he talks to everyone and isn't the type of person who would moderate himself just because he's talking to a cute girl.

But he actually likes her answer; she shows courage, which actually does impress him.]

A fine answer. Very well, then. We all share circumstances, as the rules of this game have yet to be announced. But when the time comes, perhaps you will survive to the final round after all.

You do speak in the hella strangest of ways. [ She nods, though. ] Very well, I shall be prepared for anything... After all, this can't possibly the the beginning of my peaceful life as an exchange student...

[He's not bothered by her comment that he speaks strangely, since he gets it enough that it doesn't phase him anymore.]

No, indeed. A greater mystery is unfolding. Your peaceful life will now be on hold to such murderous whims...but fear not. It is as I said. This world will soon crumble before me.

It's such a lovely building! If this does not turn out to be a Saw-like situation, I would hate to see it, um, crumble...

[ What a weird dude. ]

Hmph. I am not interested in preserving the architecture of a world coated with lies. However, if the owner can provide me with a compelling reason for my summons, perhaps I shall spare it.

[That's the closest to a concession she's going to get on this one.]

I will continue to survey this so-called manor for clues. If you seek to possess control of such a strategic base, I will not attempt to stop you.

Oh, no way! Sharing is most conducive to teamwork, yes? I shan't not allow anyone to sit here and enjoy the view.

[ She holds out her hand. ] My name is Sonia Nevermind.

[godwhisperer]

[Instead of reacting like a normal person, he instead immediately flinches backwards and adopts a sort of defensive martial arts looking position.]

Stay back! Do you not know what grim fates you tempt, Sonia Nevermind? There is boldness, and then there is folly!

[ She tilts her head like a confused puppy. ]

[Now that the danger of being touched has passed, he relaxes somewhat.]

[ Sonia huffs. ]

[He's immediately flustered. He didn't want to make her angry, and he's never really been sure how to deal with people who are angry or frustrated with him. Even though it's so easy for animals to read his intentions, it's never so easy with humans. He doesn't want to anger anyone, just to be left alone.]

[godwhisperer]

[It takes him a moment of frustratedly struggling with his words before he's able to reply.]

I...I see...you misunderstand. There is no problem with developing an alliance, it is merely that you must not touch or approach me...but you were not aware, so it is not a problem...

[ She seems to relax somewhat, smiling. ]

[He's a little caught off guard at how she didn't ask about his cool 'chaos given human form' thing and instead just acted like it was nice to meet him. She definitely strikes him as a little unusual, but in positive way. So now she's sharing interesting tidbits of personal information. Maybe he should ask her questions about herself.

No, just kidding, he will keep on talking about wizard bullshit.]

Ordinarily, one such as I am inclined to solitude. To, as you say, 'make acquaintance' is an act I would seldom undertake, but given the ambiguous situation...

[ What wonderful wizard bullshit it is. But luckily Sonia's hard to scare off. She's determined to make the best of this situation. ]

Hmm, hmm? Is it not best to meet as many people as possible upon the fresh start of a new school year?

[After all, he did decide to go to that school for human teens. Even though he's been living in solitude, there was a part of him that thought maybe that school would be different. At least his life's work would be understood. But to actually vocalize those kinds of thoughts would be out of the question, and he also isn't there. But there is a small part of him that wonders if there isn't some reason everyone was chosen to be brought here that would mean some of them might be able to understand him.]

That may be the custom for those who are interested in such trivial bonds. Such things, however, are to one such as I transparent for the mere fictions they represent.

H-huh? Hope's Peak Academy is such a lovely place, though... A place of real wonderful inspiration...!

[ She seems a little wounded that he would call it trivial. When she had been accepted to the school, Sonia had been over the moon. She couldn't wait to see more than just her tiny country. ]

[So this is possibly one of his future classmates? Unless she means something different. He's not sure what to make of the comment or how he feels about it.]

The ages of the others are not right for this to be a gathering of Hope's Peak students. Though I have not made inquiries...perhaps some are students and some not.
