The room you're in is luxurious and comfortable, but there is a musty feeling of disuse and decay in the air. Still, you've provided with new wardrobe perfectly tailored for you, a key ring that will unlock your bedroom door, so surely you're welcome to explore the manor?

Have a look around and make yourselves at home. You'll soon find you're not alone, but if any among you knows the secrets of this place, they aren't speaking.]

Simply a warning. I find most people prefer speculating about the sanguine over the grim, though I can admit that the possibility we're here for unicorn pony rides is non-zero.

Every other law of common sense has already been thoroughly trampled upon.

[She approves of Gundam's attitude towards the situation (after she takes the necessary half second to puzzle out his meaning) even if she doesn't say as much.]

Yes, humankind indeed has a predilection to wallow in convenient lies. Feh...it is dubious that we will even see one unicorn at all.

[Was that a joke? Or is he actually kind of upset about the unicorn situation? It is very hard to tell.]

It matters not. Such convenient falsehoods are odious to one such as I. In truth, the one who summons us is more like to mean us ill, or else there would have been no need to dispense with invitation. But I do not foresee myself bending to such malice.

[On her part, Susan is clearly devastated that unicorns probably will not be a thing.]

Very noble of you. But I think, perhaps, I should prefer to understand the nature of this malice before I go about attempting to defy anything. Needless exertion is detrimental for the constitution.

[Her expression is carefully neutral as she straightens.]

We have a few clues, of course. We have keys; our stay is meant to be long. The house went unused before our arrival; this manor was specially prepared for our use. The clothing, I believe, was tailored to suit us, indicating at least a passing familiarity with our tastes, and that we were, indeed, chosen for a reason.

Hmph. Then...

[He looks thoughtful.]

You suggest our host means to hold a Tournament...the winner gaining the keys to the universe itself?

Perhaps some sort of competition, though. Everything seems very... cliché, wouldn't you say? The setting, the 'costumes'. Like an elaborate play in need of actors.

Hmph. So it is to be more of a dark labyrinth of riddles to which the champions of worlds unnumbered are called.

[That's okay, but he's still sort of hoping for a tournament.]

I am prepared for either scenario.

[Susan looks vaguely grumpy now that her great scheme of Solve the Mystery has been derailed into Gundam's Bizarre Adventures Episode 92.]

In any case, I expect we're meant to be familiarizing ourselves with the 'set' at the moment.
