[You wake in an unfamiliar bedroom, with no memory of how you came to be there and a sensation that something you once had is gone. The room you're in is luxurious and comfortable, but there is a musty feeling of disuse and decay in the air. Still, you've provided with new wardrobe perfectly tailored for you, a key ring that will unlock your bedroom door, so surely you're welcome to explore the manor?

Have a look around and make yourselves at home. You'll soon find you're not alone, but if any among you knows the secrets of this place, they aren't speaking.]

Belarus - the pond / fence - 2pm

[she's not hard to spot, though she's doing it out of sight of the windows using the trees around the pond as cover. A black shape with silver hair methodically digging at the ground. A small but growing pile of dirt at her side and a sack laid out opposite with food and water. Dig, shunt. Dig, shunt.

If you're around near the pond or just following the line of the fence looking for the gate, you won't have much of a hard time finding her.]

[After a short stint in the house, Poland's back at the fence. Even when he stuck to one room there were too many strangers for his liking. At least being outside gave him somewhat of an escape if he bumped into people.

Seeing someone digging makes Poland light up a little though. He hadn't considered going under the fence in his stressed out state this morning. It was so obvious!

Poland cautiously makes his way closer to Belarus, trying to peek at how successful at escaping she's actually been.]

[well, it's more like a preliminary trench more than anything else whilst she figures out how best to do this; how wide and how deep it would need to be. She's only about a foot down so far; she hasn't been digging long.

Whether she's noticed him or not isn't clear; she just keeps digging.]

[Poland's too shy to bother her, but against his better judgement he lingers around watching her dig. He looks a little disappointed to be honest, she really hasn't gotten very far at all.


...He supposes he could offer to help but. If she just picked up the pace a little she could probably do it on her own.]

[excuse you she actually prepared for the trip first thank you. Then, suddenly;]

[After recovering from the shock of her suddenly acknowledging him-- Poland waves shyly in reply, doing his best to try to keep the weak smile on his face from disappearing.]

[Belarus, being Belarus, doesn't really show much of an expression, but she doesn't seem angry or anything. She doesn't wave back because shovel but-]

[Poland nods. Seriously how many people were stuck in this house?]

You know anything about electricity?

[That's um. Yeah that's kind of a weird question, who didn't know about electricity.] Ah... Y...yes?

Good. Help me with this. [she waves her shovel at the iron fence]

I don't know how it works.

[Poland flails-- what was with these people didn't they have any sense of self preservation whatsoever?!] C-careful with that! If you hit the fence you'll shock yourself!

I know that much! [because she tried that already]

Why is it electrified?

[It's not like he's much better, he shocked himself twice already.]

I don't know... I guess to keep us from climbing it.

[she sighs irritably. That part was obvious yes, but-]

I meant how. Lightning exists in the clouds and eels, not in fencework.

...uh. I mean. [Poland shrugs.] It's probably coming from the fence's power source. You know like a battery or some kind of electrical circuit?

I do not understand anything about electricity. This entire house is foreign to me.

[Pfft what?] How do you not know what electricity is?

I know what it is, [-though limited to eels and lightning-] why is it here?

I already told you. There's some kind of power source generating it for the fence.

[Actually that gives him an idea.] You know if someone found it and turned it off the fence wouldn't be able to be all shock-y anymore.

[well now we're entering a world she's better at understanding; 'generators' and 'turn if off' might just be jargon to her but-]

What does it look like? Can I break it with this?

[hoists shovel.]

[Oh jeez, this girl's kinda hopeless about this.] Um... if you want to die sure? Metal and electricity don't really mix all that well. It's why the fence is such a good conductor and keeps shocking people.

I dunno what it looks like but if I had to guess box shaped. Maybe a caution sticker on it somewhere. There's probably a switch in it to flip it off.
