Aha, please. Let's not jinx it.

[whether it was supposed to be taken seriously or lightly, she certainly... doesn't sound particularly worried! but yes, this was neat.]

It would be a great way to break the monotony, everyone's so tense because of the setting. They're certainly justified, but this is still a nice manor, and living under constant paranoia is a very unappealing thing. Hmm... What about throwing together a makeshift deck? Drawing or even writing the arcanas should be easy, but finding good base cardboard paper would be tricky.

[ She gives an exasperated sigh. ] Tell me about it, it's like nobody wants to have any fun around here and the only one who did ended up being the first one to get herself "executed." You would think this is a funeral home.

You have a point... [ And she does like being creative whenever she gets the chance. ] My deck was handed down throughout my ancestry before being bestowed unto me that it holds esoteric secrets and the abilities of my ancestors, it's why I prefer to use it over anything else.

Making a temporary makeshift deck isn't entirely a bad idea though. I suppose I could instill some of my psychic abilities into it.

Haha, really? That witch seemed too cool and aloof to stand by any human idea of 'fun', I think [--because drowning someone slowly over a period of several hours, ha...ha--], but I get the feeling. No one wants to die, though that doesn't mean we need to act like something terrible is going to happen at the drop of a hat. [never mind the fact that this is totally the situation at hand.] What else have you been doing, to spend the time?

[humming knowingly!] Of course. Who wouldn't choose the set of tools they're most used to, especially if it's a priceless familial heirloom? But since that's a luxury we can't afford here, we'll have to improvise. Do you think it's still worth a shot?

Oh, using my abilities the best I can. [ She gathers the cards up, shuffling them all over again and somehow avoids the trickery part of it while doing so. ] With the whole limit on them, it makes it a bit harder though. Other than that, I've enjoyed a few mundane things here and there too. I'd play some music, but there isn't anything I can play here. I guess that's to keep along with the theme.

I think so. Really all I would need to do is bond the deck to me by touch once it's completed. After that, it could pretty much work similarly to my old deck.

Oof, that's something I can well relate to. It'd be a lot easier to get creative, without those limitations. Mmm... The instruments in the music room were all classical, true. You're a more rock person, I take it? [as if the way she dresses and the 'guitar' thing on the info card didn't give away... BUT YES]

Fair enough. Now what to use? If there are other card games laying around that's not being played, you could recycle those. Otherwise, hm...

[Durable cardboard-like paper that's good for shuffling... Man. Book covers? Are they going to be missed?]

Yes, but my creativity without Riot is nothing. Without him, it's like I forget how to play in the first place. [ She sighs... though that certainly is not the reason why she forgot how to play. ] Though, I am making sure The Stingers stay on top. We deserve to always be number one.

I'd need two layers of cardstock to glue together and make the cards themselves. There's cardboard boxes in the basement. I suppose I could try to use the cardboard from those, but I'd have to thin it out to get the right consistency. It disrupts the flow if I can't shuffle them properly.

A bandmate of yours? Your life before this sounds quite lively! The stage names are starting to come together, too. Who are the others, if you don't mind me asking?

[Tapping her chin!] Hm, we certainly wouldn't run out of materials with those boxes. I could thin those out evenly for you, it's brainless work but it'll give me something to do. That said, are we including the minor arcanas too? It'd be... 22 without, and adding 56 to that with, am I remembering right?

It was alright I guess. [ Rapture casually shrugs, arching her head to one side as a means of looking like she's carelessly stretching. It is more than just 'alright,' but she's not willing to put so much emphasis on where the band first came from. ] But there's three of us: Riot, Minx, and myself. Riot does most of the vocals and Minx plays the synthesizer, but we do back up for Riot too.

You'd really do that? [ She seems genuinely surprised for a moment, but then tells herself that of course someone would do that for her. She's her! Rapture then falls back into her regular smirking. ] You're right though, 78 cards in total.

[Fine by her, whether she catches something more or not. It's not her business, after all.] I'd be curious to hear it! This manor's an inconvenience to that, unfortunately.

I'll feel more at my element, haha. Puppets are my expertise, although I like making things in general. I've had to gone by on soap and fruit carvings without my usual assets, this'll be a nice change of pace.

[personal profile] throe 2013-10-04 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
I agree, but I guess it'd be an unfair advantage if they had all three of us. [ She gives a smirk. ] Maybe I can do a bit of convincing for them make an appearance for a performance here in the future.

Puppets? Really? [ Finished with sorting the deck, she leans back in her chair with her arms crossed. ] I saw a lot of that in Germany — it's apparently really big there. You carve them out of wood then?
aozaki: (◇ cool big sis is accurate)

[personal profile] aozaki 2013-10-04 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Like a video footage support, if the producers aren't willing to bring them over in person? If this is a show like they claim, they could use the musical breaks, and you should be able to use the publicity too! [Sure is encouraging it...]

I did make some good business in Germany, when I was still in Europe. As for the material... [She chuckles with a small shrug.] It depends on what the puppet is for. Wood tends to be cheap and doesn't sell for much no matter how well it's made, so I don't use it often. People pay to see dolls that look so realistic they could practically come to life, on the other hand. I was working on an exhibit like that, before I got dragged here.

The publicity would be nice. Other than reaching the highest ranks of popularity, that is. We work better when we're all together in person though, so maybe the Hostess or whoever else runs this will realize that it'll make their show even more interesting to have us play.

That's pretty neat. [ The way she says it implies that she means it. After all, Rapture is fond of puppets herself... but of a different kind. ] Most people seem so freaked out by them, but they're just dolls. I guess some people just lack appreciation for creativity.

Yes, but remember how this manor here reaches across time and worlds? You may already be famous in yours, but to break through in another timeline or dimension?

[That's more plain dress-up... She laughs cheerfully, regardless.] Thank you, now I just wish I had something to show. True too, but they're not enough to dent my clientele, obviously. Although given our situation, maybe I should find some wood and try carving something tomorrow. Pieces of fruits and soap are getting a little repetitive.
