adventures in staying in public view

[motheringnation]

[She's not thrilled with being stuck on the list of "dead weight" players but staying in her room is probably more dangerous considering the risk of a skeleton key. So she simply decides to stay in areas with people in them. Hopefully that will work. If not she also carries her pitchfork around with her.]

[Monday | 10am/most of the day | Library]

[She's reading some of the mystery books she's located in the study, relocating to the library first though. She's got a small pile of them next to her.]


[Tuesday | 1pm | Study]

[She's back in the study this time, looking through the diary she noticed the other day]

...Wrote what? [Poland peers over her shoulder, curiously. He's not giving too much thought to Ukraine possibly being on edge given her dead weight status this week.]

[motheringnation]

[Ukraine jumps slightly and squeaks in surprise.]

[notyetlost]

[Ukraine that just startles Poland too!] W-what?!

[motheringnation]

[Wait it's just Poland, she relaxes slightly at that.]

Sorry....you startled me that's all... I'm a bit jumpy since that list went up.

A-ah...

Oh yeah you were on there. [Poland didn't pay much attention to it aside from being happy he completely escaped being noticed. Well, that and Stiles getting Immunity. Good job Stiles.]

[motheringnation]

...Yes. I am.

[:| She hates this place so much.]

[Poland doesn't want to tell her not to worry, because if he were in her situation he'd probably worry... still there must something he can say to comfort her a little.]

I'm sure no one's gonna do anything after what happened to the crazy cat lady. It'd be stupid! If we caught her we can catch anyone.

[She nods a bit.]

I hope so.

[Poland nods reassuringly back... before sniping the diary from Ukraine's grip.]

So what's this you're reading, murder mysteries like everyone else? [Flip flip flip.]

It's a diary. It was sitting on the desk here.

[Latvia sits next to her, occasionally picking at the same pile, but nothing seems to hold his interest for long]

It's kind of worrying how many mystery novels this place has...

Do you think they want people to use them as inspiration?

[motheringnation]

[She looks over.]

I'd say yes. Only old ones though.

[balzams]

Hmm...

[He closes the one he was flicking through and puts it back on the pile]

I don't know how you can read them though, it just stresses me out too much...

I like to read to escape from reality, not to be reminded of it.

[motheringnation]

Well if I read more I'll know more about how mysteries work and maybe I'll be able to help next time.

I don't think any of us can escape from reality right now.

I guess...

[Reluctantly he picks up the book again and starts scanning through it. With Ukraine in danger he wants to help any way he can]

So do you think that locked room mysteries will be popular? Or is it too risky for people to get caught?

[motheringnation]

I think there's a risk in any case that they might get caught. I'm not sure if there would be less risk with locked room ones, or more.

It takes more time so...

[And then, completely thoughtlessly it slips out]

If you were going to murder someone how would you do it?

I was wondering that as well, yes. It's the only real indication that someone's used this house prior to our arrival here.

[Susan nods at the diary on the desk.]

Most likely, it's a red herring of some sort, though.

It seems a strange thing to just leave though. What do they think we'll take away from it?

[A slight frown as she peers over Ukraine's shoulder.]

I suppose it would be possible to duplicate these recipes. ...I haven't the least idea what they'd be for, though.
