Excuse me, do you have a moment?

[ Opening her door to peer out suspiciously. ]

Yes? Do you need something?

[Kaoru politely bows! and stands a little farther from the door than a person normally might, because the last thing anyone needs is to feel like they might get bludgeoned by a surprise stranger.]

I apologize, but some have come to the conclusion that it would benefit us all if we emptied our chloroform bottles together. Would that be an agreeable idea to you?

[tsarcasm]

Right. I heard about that. [ She looks up and down the hallway, frowning. ]

So... how do we go about it, then? Sorry, it's not that I don't like the idea, but you can probably understand that I'm just a little reluctant to leave my room and go off with some stranger.

[souredsweet]

[considering how paranoid everyone else has been, Kaoru isn't at all surprised by that. THERE IS A PLAN IN PLACE!! kind of... part of the plan includes chucking the chloroform at the fence to see if it melts though apparently, so it may not be the best.]

You do not need to apologize, caution in this situation is wise. I could take your bottle to Miss Sto Helit myself, or I could return with a person of your choosing if you would prefer to see its contents delivered. If neither sounds desirable to you, I could also go ahead and let Miss Sto Helit know that you will be down later in the day. We will not be emptying the bottles until all are accounted for, after all.

[tsarcasm]

If I give you my bottle now, who's to say you aren't going to frame me later? [ Ordinarily it's the kind of thing she'd say as a joke, but she finds herself all too serious this time, regretting the words immediately. A pause as she looks down, shaking her head. ] That... I didn't mean... I shouldn't have said that. All right. If you could, let Miss Sto Helit know I'll be down later.

[though the words are harsh, Kaoru doesn't seem bitter over it. understanding - that's what shows through the most in the mildly apologetic smile that's offered to her.]

That is why I assumed you would be appreciative of the other options, miss. I have no desire to harm anyone here, but with only the word of a stranger like myself in a situation as dire as this, you are simply doing what you must to ensure your safety. Though I wish it was not necessary, it is still wise. [a nod.] I will let Miss Sto Helit know immediately, then.

[HEY THERE, HANGOUT BUDDY. Expecting duch gamefree shenanigans Kanaya's postyre when she answers the knock at her bedroom door is relaxed.]

[HELLO FRIEND. Kaoru smiles, offering a short bow in greeting.]

We have decided it may be best to collect all of the chloroform bottles in the house and empty them all at once. Would you be all right with doing so as well?

[She hadn't entirely expected this. She reaches underneath her hat with no jangle! Because her keyring is now hanging on her horn. #ALIEN ADVANTAGES In a flash she rushes to her desk and fetches the bottle for Kaoru.]

Are we sure that pouring these out won't just poison us all...?

[see the great thing about this plan is that no one really knows what they're doing. EXCELLENT.]

My, that's impressive... [the speed, that is, which has left Kaoru blinking in mild surprise before gesturing toward the bottle.]

It should be fine if we use the toilet to remove the substance, shouldn't it? ...To be honest, I don't have enough knowledge on chloroform to know of a safe disposal method.

Well, I'm not sure how the circulation would work out... I wouldn't be the one to ask either. Is May involved in this initiative?

I believe that she is, yes. I heard her express agreement on the arrangement during breakfast, anyway.

Okay, good. If she's familiar enough with this substance to divine its purity with temperature alone then there's no way there can be a chemical mishap on her watch.

I shall consult her, but I believe she will be present when the bottles are emptied. We are going to wait until every one has been collected so there is no confusion as to which bottle belongs to which person.

Okay, good... then we'll be able to identify the holdouts.

Precisely so. Though, on a pleasant note, everyone I have spoken to so far agrees with the idea...
