(Once she's ran out, she'll come back with Alice and Bernkastel in tow.)

I tried the key, but that won't work.

bernkastel can come in after this!

[And backup she gets. After being led to the bathroom by Felicia, Alice stares it down. She is not in the best clothes for busting doors down and she really hopes this isn't what she thinks it is.]

Ok, we go on three and try to force it open.

[miraculous]

[Bernkastel nods in response to Alice's suggestion--and begins working her powers, as well, to try and push the odds of getting in into their favor. There's no outward sign of her activation of this ability; she simply waits for the signal.]

[The door opens with the sound of breaking wood. The handle snaps against what appears to be a heavy chair, and the door opens as the chair slides to the ground.

Inside the bathroom, there has been a bit of a mess. A chair lies on the ground, likely what was blocking the door. The water in the bathtub is on, and water is overflowing out of the bathtub and spilling onto the floor. Inside the tub, the body of Lydia Martin floats face down. She's fully dressed, and a tube of pink lipstick floats next to her. On the back of her left hand, there is a strange mark drawn in what appears to be lipstick.

Some sort of paper is at the bottom of the tub, blocking the drain.]

(The sound of the water spilling over the tub and onto the ground is what clinches it. She knows what she's going to find in there, although she isn't sure who to expect.

But as she steps in, she sees the back of the head of another girl her age. It has to be Lydia. She didn't know her well, and she'd never struck Marlow as someone she had a lot in common with, but it's still so horrible. But she bites back the urge to cry. This isn't the time.

She rushes to the side of the tub and tries to turn the body over, see if she can get Lydia some air.)

[allice]

Dammit!

[She grits her teeth and looks at the body in anger. A murder already.]

You two investigate the area and the body! I'll go around and alert whoever else I can find.

[And with that she rushes out the exit without a second glance.]

[miraculous]

[Bernkastel steps aside into the room to allow Alice to leave and then looks around the room, glancing at the chair but moving to Felicia and Lydia.]

Pulse?

[There is no pulse. The girl is dead, and she's cold and still enough that she seems to have died at least twenty minutes earlier. Turning her over, it's clear the lipstick she was wearing has become smudged and is smeared across her mouth.]

(Marlow tries, she really does, but it's clear the girl is gone. She shakes her head, suddenly very aware she's holding the dead body of another teenage girl. She's seen a dead body before once, and she never wanted to see one again.)

It...it looks like she drowned.

[miraculous]

[Bernkastel looks around for any place a person might be able to hide in the bathroom before properly joining Felicia to examine the body itself.]

Have you performed investigations before?

[Given Bernkastel's flat tones, it's difficult to tell if it's concern for the teenager or not.]

(She nods.)

Not murder investigations, but it looks like I'll start now.

There's something in the bathtub...something on her hand, too.

(She gently puts Lydia's body back down, face up. The lipstick she takes mental note of, but she lifts up the girl's hand to get a closer look at the mark.)

What is that?

[There are no obvious hiding spaces in the bathroom, which is pretty small. If Bernkastel looks around she'll find a key ring with three keys on the ground near the trash can. At the bottom of the bathtub are wads of what looks like wet toilet paper balled up near the drain, and some long strips of white paper floating nearby.]

[miraculous]

[Bernkastel takes note of the keys, but leaves them where they are for now when Felicia notes something on the body. She looks at it critically, considering.]

Lipstick. The letter S?

S. Could be, definitely. Maybe she was trying to spell a name?

I wonder if we could get a camera to document this stuff.

(For now, she does the next best thing. She takes out her notebook and draws the mark as closely as she can. She also picks up and opens the lipstick tube.)

[miraculous]

We shouldn't leave the room unattended--and no one should be inside alone. This is a closed room murder. [Bernkastel gestures with a sweep of her hand to Lydia's keys, and then to the chair.] The murderer, left alone here, would try to destroy evidence.

hope the jack's ok, i'm good with any order until further development? o/

[after a quick chat with Alice, there'll be a polite knock on the door, whether it's open or not.]

Alice's making the rounds. May I come in and check the body?

[might as well be specific; as interesting as the scene might be, touko figures that's what she can help with more.]

[The lipstick has managed to avoid being damaged from floating in the water for so long. However, the top of the lipstick has been partially crushed.]

(Marlow nods at the newcomer.)

Go for it.

(She puts the cap back on the lipstick, and places it on the sink. Then, she reaches down and pulls out some of the wadded paper from the drain, carefully seeing if there's anything else in the paper.)

[miraculous]

[Bernkastel nods as well, stepping to one side, though still at the edge of the tub.]

I'm turning off the water. We don't need more of it ruining things.

[She turns the faucet and stops the water.]

[The wadded paper turns out to be toilet paper. It's soaking wet, so dissolves easily to the touch. There is nothing else in there.]

[Letting the other two continue their investigation of the crime scene, Touko'll exclusively focus on the body. Stepping aside to let Bernkastel turn off the water and careful to not muss anything, she leans forth to check how drenched Lydia's hair is and if any signs of struggle is apparent just like that. If not, the body'll have to be moved before anything more thorough can be done.]

[Lydia's hair is mostly wet, but at the very back of her head, her hair is dry. There is also a slightly sticky substance behind the hair of one of her ears. It isn't blood; it's something clear that quickly dissolves when touched.

There's no sign of a struggle. The only mark on her is on her face; underneath the pink lipstick smeared across her face, the skin is a little raw. She does appear to have drowned.]

(Toilet paper. It must have been clogging the drain. But she isn't sure why there would be long strips of toilet paper, or why they wouldn't have fallen apart. So she picks up one of those.)

[miraculous]

[Bernkastel is interested in the strips of paper as well, along with the status of the body, but there's no need for all three of them to be in the tub at the same time, so she observes the two of them.]

[Hmph, did the perp not wanted to get their own hand wet? The stray thought gets pushed back once her hand comes upon the strange substance, though. That's not water or blood. Frowning at the feel, she'll try to smell the tip of her fingers that's come to touch the substance nevertheless, whether it's completely dissolved or partially so by the time she draws her own arm back.]
