[Bernkastel nods as well, stepping to one side, though still at the edge of the tub.]

I'm turning off the water. We don't need more of it ruining things.

[She turns the faucet and stops the water.]

[The wadded paper turns out to be toilet paper. It's soaking wet, so dissolves easily to the touch. There is nothing else in there.]

[Letting the other two continue their investigation of the crime scene, Touko'll exclusively focus on the body. Stepping aside to let Bernkastel turn off the water and careful to not muss anything, she leans forth to check how drenched Lydia's hair is and if any signs of struggle is apparent just like that. If not, the body'll have to be moved before anything more thorough can be done.]

[Lydia's hair is mostly wet, but at the very back of her head, her hair is dry. There is also a slightly sticky substance behind the hair of one of her ears. It isn't blood; it's something clear that quickly dissolves when touched.

There's no sign of a struggle. The only mark on her is on her face; underneath the pink lipstick smeared across her face, the skin is a little raw. She does appear to have drowned.]

(Toilet paper. It must have been clogging the drain. But she isn't sure why there would be long strips of toilet paper, or why they wouldn't have fallen apart. So she picks up one of those.)

[miraculous]

[Bernkastel is interested in the strips of paper as well, along with the status of the body, but there's no need for all three of them to be in the tub at the same time, so she observes the two of them.]

[The paper in the tub is of a completely different consistency than the toilet paper. It is stiff and solid, and the long strips are holding together well. One side is beginning to show weakening from the water, but the other side seems to be repelling water; it is covered in a slick, almost slimy substance.

On most strips, the slimy side is clear, but on one of the strips, it is pink.]

Weird. Hey, what do you think this stuff is?

(She shows Bernkastel the pink strip.)

[Bernkastel examines the strip, touching both sides experimentally.]

It may be tape for her mouth--to keep her from making noise, presumably.

[She compares the pink of the strip to the pink of Lydia's lipstick.]

[After having found a detail or two, Touko speaks up again to address Bernkastel and Felicia.]

I'd like to pull the body out and lay her on her back, we can't leave her like this anyhow. Where's a good place, while you two continue here?

<small[she can drag the corpse alone, but this IS the crime scene the others happened across first.]

You're right. It's not really sticky, though.

(She puts the tape on the counter to keep it safe, and opens her notebook to write down the number of pieces of tape. Then, she glances at Touko.)

That's a good idea. I think maybe...if you took her back to her room, that might be better.

[miraculous]

[Bernkastel frowns at that idea.] Moving the body out of the tub is acceptable. I would not want to move it into another room until we're certain that room is unconnected to the murder.

[aozaki]

I just want to examine the body up front. Where would you suggest? There isn't much room here, although I could settle for the hallway.

[She juts a thumb over her shoulder too; directly outside if the other two women don't mind, if they want to keep everything within their immediate line of sight.]

That sounds okay. The floor's wet in here.

(She'll move away from the tub to let Touko through, and instead goes to inspect the door.)

[Bernkastel nods, accepting this proposal, and steps away from the tub as well.]

[aozaki]

[Off Touko goes with Lydia's body into the hallway with a hum of acknowledgement, before laying the corpse face up on the floor that the bathroom door directly opens up to. Good luck with the crime scene, she'll be busy outside.]

[There's nothing unusual about the door, except for a few marks left on the handle by the chair and the damage to the hinges done by the three forcing it open.]

(Once Touko is gone, she gets down on the floor to look around for anything dropped near the door or chair.)

[Bernkastel now turns to the keys she saw earlier.] These are hers, I believe. We should check this room for exits other than the door.

[Besides the keys and water, there's nothing unusual on the ground. The chair is the same chair present in every room in emerald wing, with a green cushion. It's somewhat damaged, with the top broken, apparently from the handle, and a small notch running along the side.]

[obsideo]

Maybe there's a secret exit. What do you think?

(She gets back up.)

[aozaki]

[Hmph, did the perp not wanted to get their own hand wet? The stray thought gets pushed back once her hand comes upon the strange substance, though. That's not water or blood. Frowning at the feel, she'll try to smell the tip of her fingers that's come to touch the substance nevertheless, whether it's completely dissolved or partially so by the time she draws her own arm back.]

[There isn't much of it left, but it does have a faint smell. It smells unpleasantly industrial, a little like glue.]

[aozaki]

[A potentially familiar scent then, if it's anything to do with the sort of stuff she usually works with during her own crafts/odd jobs.

She pulls back, and after a quick exchange with Bern and Felicia, will be taking Lydia's body out to lay the girl on her back in the hallway. That done, she'll be paying attention to any exposed part of the skin, noting the area of spread of the lipstick but also how the skin looks by her neck.]
