murder manor - reunion

[You are in a darkened theater.
In front of you is an enormous cinema screen. On it plays video of the manor, accompanied by appropriate sound effects and background instrumentals when fitting. The seat you're sitting on is large and plush, and while there's many of them, there's enough room in the theatre for you to fully recline the seat into a comfortable bed if you wish.
Follow the stairs up and you'll reach what should be the projection room. There are no projectors in here, however; it is simply a large and well-lit room above the main seating area, and a good place to hang out with your fellow eliminated contestants if shouting at each other across the aisles proves too much to handle.
If you leave the theatre through the door in the back, you'll find yourself in a hall. On one end is a concession stand. It's stocked with standard movie snacks - popcorn, candy and the like - but if you're feeling the urge for something else, you'll be able to find it stocked somewhere in the back. On the other end is a table with thirty wrapped bags and a placard reading 'A star for our stars! Please accept these lovely giftbags as a token of appreciation for your hard work, sponsored by [illegible smudge]'. Each bag has a tag bearing the name of someone in the mansion; you will only be able to open the bag with your name on it. As soon as you open it, any memories that have been taken from you, including those of the other people in the mansion that you may have forgotten, will be returned in their entirety. Within the bag are also objects from your home that you may want for your stay here, though you will find no weapons.
There are no other doors in the hall save for the one leading back into the theatre room. There are also no windows; it is impossible to tell where you are and what is going on in the outside world. Any attempts to break out will fail. So in the meantime, why not sit back and enjoy the show?]
Murder Manor reunion week has begun! The next week will take place outside the game (and will not be remembered by the living characters). Once the week is over, the living characters will be right back where they left off, Sunday night in the manor.
All the dead characters and eventually all living characters will participate in this week, through Belarus and Yuzu will just be empty shells who cannot interact with the others. Dead characters (except Lithuania, who never arrived) will all be in the theater from the beginning, whereas living characters will only be brought in once specifically introduced, and will be given their memories at that time.
During the times when Doris is taking questions, characters will not be able to talk about things that are 'off topic.' They can talk and reunite with one another, but need to focus on things relevant to that week or topic of discussion. Any time they get off topic, they will find themselves stuck trying to make the words come out of their mouth and will simply trail off. There will be breaks where characters can talk without this restriction, but the same will happen to anyone who, at any time, starts trying to talk about anything to do with there being a Mastermind or player to benefit from the game or planted player who isn't Lithuania. Codes and other attempts to get around this rule will still result in trailing off.

Though I suppose they would have attempted to kill regardless.

Anyway, a group of six alone was enough of a hassle to manage. If they had upped the number, it would have become unbearable.

Unfortunately, many of you left obvious clues behind, whether purposefully or by accident.

Actually, we were told at the beginning that we would only have to kill once in order to achieve our incentives. It was only after Touko's death that we learned even if we succeeded, we wouldn't be able to retire. Not only that, but we would have to keep playing. We didn't know how long the game would last, so between the three of us left at the time, we would have to take turns every third week. [an impossibility, given how many murders were solved and how close the two that got away came to being caught.]
...That was the point, I think, when most of us realized what a hopeless situation it was. Spain's victory was the only one our group saw, but even then, the prospect of him succeeding twice would have required a miracle.

[....................frustrated silence for a few moments as Susan attempts to force out some words.]
This place is infuriating even after we're all dead.
no subject
And it is, yes, entirely. Every last one of us died pointlessly in the end. Even Lithuania. [though that explosion was not expected. oh and neither was:] Your demise, though - they certainly don't run out of surprises. [how is it not knowing that you were actually dead all along, Susan!! the sarcasm in his voice could be cut with that cake knife...]

Given the censoring, I assume the reason is to convince their viewers that everything's still going according to plan. If that means our beloved audience won't pay me any mind in the future, I'm quite alright with that.
no subject
[he kind of hopes they don't just because Susan popping in and out of "existence" based on budgetary demands seems like true hilarity...]
no subject
[Susan will do the Electric Slide all up and down the drawing room and over Lithuania's guts.]
no subject
Now that you've said so, I'll be holding you to it! It does get dull here, watching people just mill about making meals and talking.
no subject
...
But do you mean to say you're part of the audience?
no subject
So you should wave, since we'll see it.
no subject
[A pause.]
And how came I never received anything? How very unfair.
no subject
[that gets a laugh, though.] Don't think of it as unfair! Think of it as a good testimony to your character. From what I gathered, they gifted people they thought might make decent murderers, or people who could reasonably snap. [or it could just be because:] Immune players aren't on the list of candidates, either.
no subject
Well. Excluding a certain group of people on arbitrary standards is practically the definition of unfair.
[She doesn't even bother looking ashamed.]
What else have you been up to behind the scenes?
no subject
Not at all fair for you, no. But that would be the extent of what we do, really... There isn't anywhere else for us to go and little to do but watch and talk. There have been a few touching reunions that you've missed, though.
no subject
I suppose Beat wasn't terribly pleased to see you?
no subject
Not at all. He was such a pain to deal with that first day... Honestly, if I had known, I would have picked a different target.
