murder manor - reunion

murder manor reunion

[You are in a darkened theater.

In front of you is an enormous cinema screen. On it plays video of the manor, accompanied by appropriate sound effects and background instrumentals when fitting. The seat you're sitting on is large and plush, and while there's many of them, there's enough room in the theatre for you to fully recline the seat into a comfortable bed if you wish.

Follow the stairs up and you'll reach what should be the projection room. There are no projectors in here, however; it is simply a large and well-lit room above the main seating area, and a good place to hang out with your fellow eliminated contestants if shouting at each other across the aisles proves too much to handle.

If you leave the theatre through the door in the back, you'll find yourself in a hall. On one end is a concession stand. It's stocked with standard movie snacks - popcorn, candy and the like - but if you're feeling the urge for something else, you'll be able to find it stocked somewhere in the back. On the other end is a table with thirty wrapped bags and a placard reading 'A star for our stars! Please accept these lovely giftbags as a token of appreciation for your hard work, sponsored by [illegible smudge]'. Each bag has a tag bearing the name of someone in the mansion; you will only be able to open the bag with your name on it. As soon as you open it, any memories that have been taken from you, including those of the other people in the mansion that you may have forgotten, will be returned in their entirety. Within the bag are also objects from your home that you may want for your stay here, though you will find no weapons.

There are no other doors in the hall save for the one leading back into the theatre room. There are also no windows; it is impossible to tell where you are and what is going on in the outside world. Any attempts to break out will fail. So in the meantime, why not sit back and enjoy the show?]

Murder Manor reunion week has begun! The next week will take place outside the game (and will not be remembered by the living characters). Once the week is over, the living characters will be right back where they left off, Sunday night in the manor.

All the dead characters and eventually all living characters will participate in this week, through Belarus and Yuzu will just be empty shells who cannot interact with the others. Dead characters (except Lithuania, who never arrived) will all be in the theater from the beginning, whereas living characters will only be brought in once specifically introduced, and will be given their memories at that time.

During the times when Doris is taking questions, characters will not be able to talk about things that are 'off topic.' They can talk and reunite with one another, but need to focus on things relevant to that week or topic of discussion. Any time they get off topic, they will find themselves stuck trying to make the words come out of their mouth and will simply trail off. There will be breaks where characters can talk without this restriction, but the same will happen to anyone who, at any time, starts trying to talk about anything to do with there being a Mastermind or player to benefit from the game or planted player who isn't Lithuania. Codes and other attempts to get around this rule will still result in trailing off.

You fell for it. I was only playing a game. [ Malice doesn't come from the way she says it though. She sounds very playful and careless. ] But, I am a rock star first and foremost.

Even when— [ The censorship stops her and she stumbles back on topic. ] —you were being accused, I knew it couldn't have been you. What kind of guy who shows his Halloween themed underwear for a seance would commit murder?

... Well at least it was still wasn't as awful as the other game we had to play.

You could have spoken up a bit more... [Oh well, not that it mattered now] But it's nice to know I still had someone on my side I guess.

Please. You saw how much they refuse to listen to Sonia's profile. They spent the entire time thinking I would end up murdering someone just because I'm willing to admit I only care about going back to the Stingers when they should have realized that the nice and pleasant ones are always the murderers.

You're too nervous anyway. If anything, you'd end up accidentally stabbing yourself instead of someone else.

[... He's just going to keep his potential 'make himself look like he was targeted along with his victim' murder plans to himself then]

To be honest I thought you would have too... I should have trusted you when you said you wouldn't.

It's true though, after what happened with Touko I should have realised that the nicest ones are usually not as they appear. That's why I didn't really want to accuse Spain, since he had been so friendly to me before.

Then again, since remembering everything I know that Spain really is a good person. I guess those nightmares must have been a bit too close to home for him...

I'm used to it. [ She shrugs, still smirking. ] The Stingers make no apologies for who they are and people apparently tend to label that with wanting to murder someone. Even when constantly proven otherwise. It's people like the Holograms you have to look out for.

People do what they have to do to survive and what Spain did was no different. His people matter to him more than anything else, just like Kanaya's and Sonia's do.

I personally wouldn't have committed murder, but acting like survival isn't key here isn't going to get anyone anywhere. You do what you can do.

I think I was more paranoid than anything. If I had met you in any other situation I'm sure I wouldn't consider you a potential murderer.

Of course! And I don't blame him for it... Not any more at least. As nations our people made us who we are and we'd do anything to protect them. If I had been in his place I probably would have done the same, so in that respect I'm actually happy he didn't get executed.

[It took him a long, long time to finally accept the fact, especially since Spain's survival was at his expense but knowing what he knows now Latvia is genuinely glad things turned out the way they did]

... You say that survival is key but for a large portion of the game you thought everything was theatrics, didn't you?

Did I? [ She is being purposefully obtuse about this, even in a theatre of mostly "dead" people she's going to be evasive. ] Maybe that's how I wanted it to appear. For all you know, I could have known it was a murder game all along, but I appeared to act like it was a show simply for popularity.

Then again, unless the rest of us have all miraculously died, this alone just proves there's even more to the story. [ She motions a hand to their surroundings, before turning her attention back to him. ] For all we know it could be a game show.

You didn't see your autopsy?

[Gingerly he reaches up and touches at his neck]

You know, I have actually died before... That certainly didn't feel fake. But acting like it was fake even though you knew it was real? Sounds like something the m-

[M... M...]

makers of the show would come up with to increase drama between players. If you came up with it yourself though I'm impressed.

[...What just happened?]

I did see the autopsy though! Your reaction was more than I could have hoped for.

Then you should know what I thought of this show by that reaction alone.

My goal is, and always has been, to get back to the Stingers. They're all I care about. [ She shrugs. ] Wether it's real or not doesn't matter, it never changed my reason to beat this game.
