week 1 - day 0

[As promised, on Sunday morning at 9 AM, the grandfather clock in the foyer begins to chime. The doors to the drawing room are left open, although the doors to the smoking room adjacent are locked. Set out in the drawing room is a fine selection of coffee, tea, fruit, and pastries. There are also enough chairs, lounges, and sofas for everyone to have a seat.
Once everyone has filed in, the doors to the drawing room will close and lock]
This is an NPC post as well as an open mingle. Players may reply to the NPC, or may discuss the game amongst themselves. Players will be locked in the room until 10 AM. Please see the plot and in character rule pages below. Anyone wishing to submit a murder for the week must do so by Monday at 9 PM EST.

[The smile quickly fades though as he flips through the cards.] Yeah, these might tell us who to watch out for, but they also tell any potential killers out there who'd be the easiest targets. And some of us - which I am definitely a member of, tragically - are way out of our league here. Unless I magically get bitten by a werewolf in the next few hours or develop magic powers, being intelligent is not going to do much against master swordsmanship. Man, you'd think the whole nerd versus jock stigma couldn't get any worse outside of high school...

[ ...Just. Going to ignore the werewolf comment for a moment. Things are insane enough right now. ] Trust me, that stigma lasts all the way into your forties and gets worse. Especially when the meatheads start working for the government and carrying guns.
[ He sighs. Don't need to get on that topic, not right now. ]
I think the smartest thing to do would be to buddy up the people with special abilities with those who aren't as able to handle themselves. Stick some of those master swordsmen and women with the people who don't have anything going for them.

[He nods.] Yeah, that sounds like a good plan, as long as we can get people to actually volunteer for it. It shouldn't take too long to write up a list of people who need protection and people who can hold their own.

[ Altman crosses his arms. ] What if we used a sign-up sheet? Went around, asked people to volunteer, then used the info cards to figure out who needs what?
