week 1 - day 0

[As promised, on Sunday morning at 9 AM, the grandfather clock in the foyer begins to chime. The doors to the drawing room are left open, although the doors to the smoking room adjacent are locked. Set out in the drawing room is a fine selection of coffee, tea, fruit, and pastries. There are also enough chairs, lounges, and sofas for everyone to have a seat.
Once everyone has filed in, the doors to the drawing room will close and lock]
This is an NPC post as well as an open mingle. Players may reply to the NPC, or may discuss the game amongst themselves. Players will be locked in the room until 10 AM. Please see the plot and in character rule pages below. Anyone wishing to submit a murder for the week must do so by Monday at 9 PM EST.

When the hour of my death comes, I will not go mourned. This is the destiny that has long been written for me.
But I do not intend for that hour to draw near yet.

If you're murdered first, I'll hold a nice toast in your honor and read appropriately uplifting pages from a fantasy epic about conquering the gods and all of that. You can do the same for me if you'd like, but I'd prefer something a bit more sensible.

[For some reason he seems really flustered by that.]

[If only to see how much redder Gundam can get.]
I, Susan Sto Helit, swear to mourn Gundam Tanaka in a suitably dramatic manner as I feel would please his spirit in the event that he is untimely strangled by his own scarf or otherwise shuffled off the mortal coil.
There, now it's a promise.
[A slight pause.]
...In all seriousness, though, you might want to consider a different fashion choice.

Hmph...my spirit desires no such display...
[He looks a little uncomfortable for a second.]
If any were so inclined to note my passing, their time would be best spent to see to the Dark Gods, not to my vengeful spirit. However, my demise is exceedingly unlikely.

[Susan smiles amiably as she turns away to allow Gundam a few moments to dereddify.]
What are these Dark Gods, then?
no subject
But though their power is fearsome, they naturally cannot provide for their own sustenance.
no subject
[Well that was probably the first thing that left her actually speechless.]
-- Oh! Yes. ...I do recall reading that now. You mean you wish for someone to care for them if you're removed from the game.
[This had taken an unexpected turn for the serious.]
I shall see what I can do. It isn't as if I don't have a rodent practically residing in my house, either.

It was merely a response to allegations of what would slake the vengeful thirst of my spirit upon passing. In truth, I would not entrust these beasts to any who had not proven themselves worthy of wielding such power.
The one capable of killing me may be the only one who possesses the strength to command them.
no subject
Very well, then; if you pass and no one else remembers your Dark Hamsters, I'll locate a suitable keeper, and you can come back from the afterlife to test them in battle and whatnot.
I probably shouldn't be trusted with small animals that aren't immortal, really.
no subject
[He is genuinely happy that she would promise something like that, but in an embarrassed way. He pulls his scarf over his face and clears his throat.]
I am summoned elsewhere. I must see to it that my quarters are warded against psychic attacks.
no subject
[Gundam will be allowed to flee in embarrassment. Susan knows when not to push it.]
While you're at it, I'd go ahead and ward the quarters against physical intrusions. I don't know if I trust these locks.
no subject
[And he's walking off.]
