Perhaps our food yesterday was poisoned to varying degrees. Otherwise...

[Susan gives a sigh.]

Well, it's more believable than having things like the Rules or a 'matriorb' to sling about.

[She will seat herself because she's been standing too long as well.]

[ Looking at and smelling the soup makes her stomach turn in all the worst ways, so she's keeping all of her attention focused on Susan right now. She slumps both arms over the chair, chin resting on top. ]

Something tell me it isn't even poison. We would have contracted it wether we ate the food or not.

We don't even know what the cure is! Just that murder alleviates it. It'd be a real performance if someone could even manage to go through with one while this exhausted.

It would leave us in a poor position, wouldn't it? Those of us who are more able-bodied. ...I don't know that I would be terribly keen on investigating a murder this week, though, if it's done for the sake of us all.

What if they'd rather do it for themselves in the first place? For all we know, someone could just try to alleviate their symptoms before they think of doing it for all of us.

[ She longingly sighs. ] This isn't even like a post-concert illness that I could easily remedy either.

...Well. It would hardly be a very effective incentive if it was a minor cold that could be slept off in a day.

I suppose the only thing to do would be to catch the Mastermind today or tomorrow. ...Not that that's likely to be possible.

They're probably too sick themselves to even remember they're the Mastermind.

Whoever it is though... don't you think they'll act fast? [ She cannot help but smirk at the prospect of it. ] Chances are they're either only mildly sick or hardly sick like us, but they still don't know if or when they'll succumb to this illness.

Maybe it's the game runners way of luring us to them.

...They do have a 'bias' in their favor, remember. I doubt they'd succumb at all. You're right - they could be only mildly sick and playing up their symptoms, and we wouldn't actually be able to tell.

I suppose if we monitored everyone's temperatures...

Let's hope there's a clue gets us thermometers for... however many people are left, because there's no way I'm even getting near anyone else's germs.

[ She frowns turning to hopefully attend to her soup before it turns too cold. ] We don't even know if being around someone who's sicker will make it worse or not.

I highly doubt it. If it's all the same illness, anyway. Moreso if it's some sort of magical ailment they've inflicted on us at will.

...By the same token, I don't know if keeping hydrated and receiving the proper nutrients will be of much use against it, but it certainly can't hurt. At the very least, you ought to feel momentarily more comfortable.

If we can even manage to keep it down.

[ She stares into her soup, already feeling nauseous. ]

Ginger ale with a little tequila would help right about now. Blessed... with a spell of— [ It's hard for her to properly raise her arms like she normally does, so she throws her head back for good measure. ]longevity!

I don't see why everyone insists on wanting alcohol when they're ill. It isn't as if it's any easier to keep down.

[Susan is just a stick in the mud.]

I suppose I can fetch you something from the bar if you insist. ...Although we still don't know which ones have been poisoned.

The same reason why a little hair of the dog helps with hangovers.

Who knows, maybe poison would actually help with this. [ She pinches her nose and takes a spoonful of soup. Rapture swallows it, closes her eyes, waits, waits, and waits some more until she's sure she's safe. ] But I'm pretty well-stocked, I'll manage.

...I shall take that as a sign of your true infirmity rather than as a judgment of my culinary technique.

[Susan isn't really hungry either, honestly.]

I'll leave these with you, then. [She refers to the heated blankets and the hot water bottle.] Try not to indulge too much; I'm not keen on cleaning vomit.

I don't vomit. [ She looks over her shoulder with a smirk. ] Ancient family secret.

[ That "ancient family secret" is actually just being a rock singer and building up a tolerance thanks to after parties. She does get up and firmly wrap the blanket around her though. There seems to be something strangely comforting in performing the action... ]

[Whoops there goes Susan's hair again although judging from her barely perceptible smile, she's only teasing.]

You never know. Perhaps my soup is just that good.
