[...Sigh. And then coughing, hold on, give him a second.

Okay, getting up.]

Come on.

[Poland tries to grab hold of Lithuania, in the least embarrassingly needy way he can manage without losing his balance. Somehow he doesn't think Lithuania would be able to pick him off the floor and drag him up a flight of stairs, nor does he want him to.]

[vytis]

[Lithuania lets Poland grab onto him, waiting for him to properly get his balance on his feet. Poland has never struck him as the type to want to have to rely on someone else for something like help getting up the stairs, so he decides to try to distract from the issue.]

The cake I made is called šakotis; I don't know if you've ever had it before.

[notyetlost]

Maybe... [Even ignoring his memory loss, Poland's not really sure he can start recalling various cakes he's eaten over the past 1000 years at the moment.

These steps are kind of taking all his effort.]

Still wouldn't have been yours.

[vytis]

[Lithuania will be patient while Poland works on the stairs. He will also make sure Poland doesn't fall down them.]

I hope you like it.

[It's hard to believe looking at him now that at one point people thought Poland could climb manor walls.

Eventually Poland clears the stairs and makes it to his bedroom, where he abruptly drops onto the bed.]

...If I throw up. [Huff.] i-it's probably not like your fault.

[vytis]

[Lithuania sits on the edge of Poland's bed and tries to smooth out his hair a little.]

Are you sure you want cake?

[notyetlost]

I want it. [Poland's trying very hard to keep from getting whiny, but. He's been looking forward to this ever since Lithuania mentioned it and something has always ruined it and he just really wants it even if this can't possibly end well.]

[vytis]

Alright. [Lithuania the huge pushover.] May I borrow your keys?

[Since he's not going to be leaving Poland's door open when Poland's like this, but he doesn't want Poland to have to get up to answer the door for him, either.]

[notyetlost]

Here. [Without any hesitation, Poland pulls out his keys and gives them to Lithuania, before moving to crawl under the covers.]

[vytis]

Thank you. [Lithuania takes them and leaves, returning a little later with the promised cake. He brought some water up, too.]

[notyetlost]

[Poland looks at the cake. It actually is familiar.] Šakotis or sękacz?

[vytis]

[Lithuania looks a little confused.] It's called šakotis where I'm from. You've seen it before, though...?

[notyetlost]

Yeah. At like. Christmas. It's called sękacz at home.

[vytis]

I make this for Christmas, too. [What a weird coincidence!] Christmas and birthdays, generally.

That's kind of weird... [Poland picks off a small piece of cake with his fingers and just kind of lets it hover for a moment in front of his mouth.]

[And then quickly shoves it in his mouth, looking overly determined for something as ridiculous as eating cake!!]

[vytis]

[This is the most determined cake-eating he has ever witnessed. He will watch to make sure Poland doesn't make himself sicker eating it or anything.]

[notyetlost]

[He is the Republic of Poland! He will not be defeated by cake!

Although it looks like he's deliberately refusing to swallow it for as long as possible.]

I-it's good.

[vytis]

[Poland's determination is endearing, really. He smiles a little.] You don't have to force yourself to eat it, it's alright.

[notyetlost]

[That's a relief because once he swallows, Poland's giving up. He flops backwards into the pillows.]

...hah. I'm like. Full. Yup. Thanks.

[Augh Lithuania this totally sucks.]

[vytis]

I can make you another once you're feeling better.

[He isn't even going to bother pretending there might not be a murder this week. Eighth time isn't any sort of charm.]

[notyetlost]

[Poland nods weakly.]

The rest of the deal was that you were gonna go lay down too you know.

[vytis]

Well--yes. [Lithuania glances at the door, but he looks kind of reluctant to leave.]

[notyetlost]

...

[It takes him a long moment to process Lithuania's reluctance. Much longer than normal anyways. But Poland pats the space in the bed next to him.]
