[Okay, she stops before going to the study and examines the portraits. Very carefully, she takes them down to examine if there's anything behind them or on the back.]

[Nothing on the wall or the back of the paintings.]

[obsideo]

[She raps on the wall a few times to see if it sounds hollow.]

[productions]

[Not hollow sounding.]

[obsideo]

Hmm...

[She thinks there has to be more to this, but maybe it's not the time. She makes a note in her notebook and goes to the study.]

[There's a smell in the study. It seems to be that the Bunsen burner is lit.]

[obsideo]

That's not good.

[She goes over to the burner to take a look.]

[productions]

[There's a beaker of some sort of clear, odorless substance boiling on the burner. The beaker is half full, and steam is rising from the beaker. Next to the burner, a book is open, and someone, in pen, has circled a particular note.]

[obsideo]

[She looks at the liquid carefully. Science isn't her strongest subject. If she turns it off, it might destroy evidence, but leaving it burning might evaporate all of it. She's careful to write down anything she can observe about what it looks like, and then shuts it off.

Then, she looks at the book. Time to see what was circled.]

[It seems to be a note about the 'Properties of Magnesium.']

Magnesium, huh?

[She'll have to do her own research on that. She does a sweep of the room, to see if anything else stands out.]

[There's a slight draft, you may notice now the burner is turned down. It's coming from one of the windows, which is open just a crack.]

[obsideo]

[She goes over to the window to take a look.]

[productions]

[The window is open a crack, and there are a few scratches in the wood, like someone took a knife edge to it.]

[She draws the scratches in her notebook, and then opens the window to look out, checking for any signs someone climbed or jumped.]
