Yes, they are intended to be bats, winged companions to the creature of the night I have been disguised as. Hm, how fitting. For I, the hunter has become the hunted, while for they, the prey has become predator!

[Gundam are you implying you're a vampire hunter now.]

[Gundam is a man of many talents, Kaoru has learned not to question it.]

I see... They must be even more fearsome now than they are on an average day. [...] But what creature are you disguised as, exactly?

I believe they intend to have me take the form of a vampire, those dreadful bloodsucking beings of the night.

...Like the one who was executed two weeks prior.

[Which makes the giant bat cape seem a little silly.]

Those beings often are known to have bat familiars, so my own companions have been modified to suit the tale.

[oh... WELL. that is unfortunate. Kaoru's expression falls a little at the mention of Kanaya.]

I see... I was not aware that such creatures were prevalent in every culture, or even so far into the future as the times that both you and Miss Maryam seem to be from. [a soft, thoughtful hum.] They are quite suiting with their little wings, anyway.
