I am not entirely certain that there is one murderer, but one plan is feasible. [a nod, though Kaoru still looks troubled.]

I simply... I do not understand why Miss Belarus was butchered in such a way. It is as if two entirely separate people committed the murders... I cannot understand the reasoning behind it.

Pleasure.

[ Realizing that she must elaborate, Sonia goes on. ] It's impossible for us ordinary people to understand the way the mind of a brutal murderer works. When we are confronted with grisly sights like this one, we cannot comprehend why. But the thing is... Such acts are truly enjoyable for some. It is a thrill.

For example, the renowned killer Genocider Syo... He makes a beautifully elaborate display of his victims, taking his time to make the scene as shocking as possible. You may ask 'Why would someone go out of their way for this?', and the answer is because... it's for the enjoyment of it.

We are looking for a very sick person indeed. Someone on that list with a profoundly disturbed mind.

[Kaoru seems to be having trouble processing the notion of a killer doing something so grisly for the thrill of the kill. after a few seconds of silence:]

For that? Just for that, Miss Belarus was...? [a brief glance toward the suspect portraits.] Do you truly believe it so?

That's the reality of our world... and of thrill killers.

Humankind can be such a terrible thing... [that optimism from week 1 sure is gone now.]

...I apologize, Miss Nevermind, but your card says that you have some knowledge on such matters, correct? Would it be possible for you to list commonalities between the killers that you know and the murder that has happened today, so that we might get a better idea for the type of person we are looking for? Though I am uncertain it would do us much good in the end...

That is a good idea. I shall pronounce my knowledge for examination.

Thank you, Miss Nevermind. With luck, it may help...

It could just be a distraction tactic. Leave one body alone, cut up the other to make us think the two are unrelated. I think if we put too much focus on how Belarus was...well chopped up into bits, we won't get anywhere with our discussion. It's very unlikely she was butchered while still alive after all.

Ah... Trying to delay the trial, you mean? In the same way that Miss Maryam planted a false mystery box? [Kaoru's brow furrows further.] But... to do it in such a manner...

Yes, it's gruesome, but it is a possibility. The dismemberment can be a distraction tactic as much as it is a way to obscure how Belarus died. Whoever did it didn't do it just for fun - this is a calculated attempt of some sort.

But why would they go to such lengths to hide the method...? Surely it cannot be like Mr. Strider's circumstances; there is no framing involved. Unless they are trying to recreate the confusion Miss Takami's case held, but... that, too, seems to lack sense to me.
