You may not have an actual contract, but you are still an honorary Stinger. To perform together in this mansion... would be destiny!

[ She lifts her arms outward as if waiting for something... but then clears her throat when it doesn't arrive. Instead, Rapture plays it off with a smile. ]

Of course I want to. Not only would it be patriotic to your nation, but it's your chance to prove that you can shine with the rest of us.

[ Rapture........ ]

Then I should be teachin' ya the lyrics! Oooh, I have to find paper and pencil...

[ Score. Rapture awaits for Sonia to get the items and figures she can scheme into snatching a song for The Stingers to play. Of course, they're creative enough without having to do something like this, but this... this song has a special touch that she refuses to let go.

She remains seated, hands resting on the arms of the chair. ]

I'm ready whenever you are.

[ She manages to scrounge up a pencil and begins scribbling on the back of a music sheet.

A few minutes later she hands over this. ]

Um... for some reason international representatives do not like this song. I find it very patriotic. It is not subversive at all, if you ask me.

[ She takes the paper and reads over the lyrics. It's hard to gauge her reaction, but she's inwardly surprised that... this is an anthem for Sonia's nation.

Of course, it's just a role and not the real thing. Regardless, the made up land of Novoselic certainly has unique and creative tastes. ]

It's so... different. Which means it's perfect! It'd be greater to have Riot's voice singing it, but we'll have to improvise. It's not like they took away my singing voice anyway.

Alright. [ She stands up and walks over to the piano to lean against it, eager to start. Finally, something worth doing around here! ] You wanna rehearse it?

O~kay! I will cue you in, alright!

[ Sonia lifts her hands to begin playing. When it comes time to start singing, she'll nod. ]

[ CUE OPENING GUITAR RIFT ]

[ She taps a finger against the top of the piano to gain a better understanding of the beat, but she seems to latch on easily. Her voice is strong and soulful, but not overpowering when matched with the piano. Minx and her have done rehearsals together where they've done a capellas, so this doesn't seem all that different to her.

Her voice lowers into a low, husky guttural sound that seems like only she can hit it and make it go well with the song: ]

Hello, hello, hello, how low?

[ But when it rears back, her voice is as strong as ever. It seems less like angry singing while more suited to singing an anthem for an ambassador or at a special performance. She fumbles a bit over the words at first, but it doesn't seem to stop her as she properly smoothes it out along with Sonia's piano playing. The small reminder of percussion helps keep her in check. ]

I'm worse at what I do best and for this gift I feel blessed. Our little group has always been... and always will until the end!

[ It is fairly obvious she is relating to this to her band now which seems to match well with how much energy she is putting forth in her singing. ]

[ Sonia could not be more delighted with Rapture's rendition. It is a song meant to be sung with great spirit and power, and it is a real honor to hear it sung properly. She begins playing more fervently and energetically in response. ]

[ This is the best duet ever and Rapture has to admit that she's having the most fun she's had in this murder mansion yet! Conning people is just a great, but music is her passion. When Sonia gets more into playing, Rapture (of course) does not skimp on her vocals. ]

And I forget just why I taste. Oh yeah, I guess it makes me smile! I found it hard, it's hard to find. Oh well, whatever... [ With the paper still in her hand, she points to Sonia. Rapture is obviously in the moment. ] Nevermind!

[ The final chorus is the strongest, but as she rears toward the end, she cuts 'A denial' from nine quickly clipped vocals into holding the —'ia' portion longer so that it's only three. On the last denial, she throws her hands in the air and loosens her grasp on the paper with the lyrics, letting it flitter to the ground. There's a glint in Rapture's eyes once the song ends. ]

That was amazing! Could you imagine if debuted it at a trial?!

[ Sonia wishes she could clap along, but she must keep playing the piano. Her hands move quickly, hitting notes with the strict, rigid precision of someone who has learned the art from hoity-toity instructors flown in from Austria just for the purpose of teaching her. Her playing is very clinical; it's the musical equivalent of someone dancing every twitch and turn of a ballet role directly according to the requirements. It lacks the spontaneity that belongs to people who are born to be musicians, but it's pristine in its purity. ]

I am so happy...! You do me a great honor! It was such a delight to hear a song I am so fond of sung by a foreigner...! Ah... ah, it'd be so nice to perform for everyone else...

Do you think the Hostess would let us bring the piano down to play it? I mean, we'd have to rehearse a little bit more, but it's basically sound already.

Imagine the two of us performing in front of a live audience... we'd go straight to the top of the charts!

It'd definitely zoom us both onto the 'popular' list, I'm sure of it!
