[There's a pause before he suddenly looks absolutely horrified - or at least even more so than before.]

You -- you don't think she was still alive when this happened, do you?

Oh God no...I hope not. I mean it depends - Anastasia doesn't seem like she can put up a good fight, but Belarus has super strength so it'd be hard to hold her down. [Unless the killer decided to remove that. She furrows her brow at the thought of having to even debate whether or not the victim was alive. Shit.] Finding an exact cause of death is going to be difficult. Whoever this asshole is, they really don't want us to figure them out.

I don't get why anyone would go through all this trouble in the first place. They didn't even leave her head. They can't possibly think we won't be able to figure out her identity eventually.

[He chews on his lip.] If the weapon really was a knife in this kitchen...then it might not be those two at all. They wouldn't need the deadweight items in that case. [And along that line of thought, he begins to examine the blood in the kitchen more carefully to see if it's more concentrated in one particular area than another or if there are any discernible trails...and so he'll have an excuse not to look at the torso.]

I don't see any other body parts around here. Ugh, did this sick psycho actually hide them around the mansion or eat them or what?

...actually, I wouldn't be surprised if that happened, it's not like our culprit this week knows the meaning of limits anyway.

[With that thought in mind, he begins to look for the clues in the more disturbing areas they'd be found - the oven and the icebox.]

[Alice just quietly keeps looking at each knife, trying to determine how badly damaged they are. It won't be exactly easy to draw up an estimate for how it would take to cut through a body with knives...might be a lost cause without even a good timeframe for when the murder occurred.]

I don't know if it was the murder weapon per say. The knife might have just been used to just gut her. It looks a little busted up, but cutting someone with these knives would take a lot of effort.

[Yeah he's not really paying to Alice anymore sorry. His vision goes gray and there's a ringing in his ears, but he's gonna try to stave off the goddamn heart attack to at least identify the head before he starts freaking out.]
allice: sprite ((sass) Odds are she won't live)

[When Stiles doesn't answer, Alice turns her head around and looks to the icebox.]

Stiles? ...You didn't find another body part did you?

[Please tell her you didn't Stiles.]

[A strange calm settles over him, numbing out his emotions and letting only his thoughts in. Okay. Belarus was the victim. He'd been expecting Anya since she was the deadweight, but truth be told, he's almost relieved; as guilty as it makes him feel, he'd rather the teenager live than the country who's already been alive for a thousand years - plus Belarus always struck him as someone who might go off the hinges and become a killer herself. She died with her eyes open, so she hadn't been knocked out. Blood loss? Or something else? The pinkish liquid around her mouth wasn't in line with coughing up blood from internal injuries - he's seen first hand that the blood in that case would be a dark red, nowhere near as light as this.

He makes a note of all this, memorizing the grisly scene in front of him and burning it into his mind, before he calmly makes his way to the sink and just as calmly empties what little is in his stomach into it.]

Stiles!

[Ok yeah, definitely a body part. She doesn't even bother going to the icebox, instead going up to sink and gently rubbing Stiles' back to comfort him.]

Ok, Stiles, I think you need to take a break. You're not going to be any good to anyone like this.
humanic: (determined)

[personal profile] humanic 2013-10-24 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
No.

[He shudders, wiping his mouth, eyes glassy but also burning with rage and determination.]

We keep investigating, got it? We turn this kitchen completely upside down. If they hid the head and the torso here, who knows what else they might have left? I don't want to have to come back here later, and I'm not letting this fucking bastard get away with this just because I did a sloppy job searching this place because I was too distracted by the body parts. That's probably exactly what they want. We can't let what happened with Annie happen here again. We won't.

...and if you could find me a mint while we're at it, that'd be awesome.
allice: cg ((sullen) They've given you a number)

[personal profile] allice 2013-10-24 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
...I don't think the 1920s had mints, but we'll see if we find any. [Alice had no intention of stopping investigating of course. She just worries Stiles might be pushing himself a little too hard is all.

I'm going to go look at what you found a little closer. ...We'll have to take it out eventually when the trial comes. [The thought of everyone having to bring the body back piece by piece is an excruciating idea to her.] Take a minute to collect yourself and search around. I doubt that she was killed here - the body was probably cut up elsewhere and then brought back here and only after did they cut up the torso in the middle of the room to make a scene.

Go ahead. Fair warning though, it's pretty gruesome. Ugh, I'm gonna have nightmares for life.

[He squares his shoulders and starts looking underneath all the surfaces, remembering Siren's trial.]

There's something weird about what's around her mouth too. It doesn't look like blood - at least not the kind of blood you'd expect from someone being gutted.
allice: sprite ((bite) She stays a stranger)

[She gets to the opened ice box after he says "her" and grimaces. Belarus. She closes her eyes for a moment and takes a deep breath, before she begins to examine the body...well the head of the body. Eyes wide opened, probably surprised when killed much like Minatsuki. She pauses for a moment and then reaches out to the head inside with both hands and puts one hand under the jaw and another clenched around the nose, attempting to open up the mouth to see if she can find any of the pink fluid inside Belarus' mouth. It might be easier to just take the head out, but it may be safer to keep it frozen until the trial.]

[Surfaces checked, he next presses the button for the elevator and looks down the shaft, still having flashbacks to Siren's trial.]

What do you make of it?
