The rest of the room is in a terrible state. Her bedside table has been knocked askew with the contents fallen to the ground. A pocket knife is lying on the ground right next to the bed, and a few feathers from a ripped pillow are next to it. Farther away, a flower pot is lying on the ground, its contents - dirt and a sunflower - spilled, and the pot badly cracked.
The bed itself is unmade and tousled, and there is blood on the sheets.]

I could never- !
[But he's stopped mid-sentence by the opening of the door. He'd never been into her room before, so he couldn't comment for the state of it but the moment he sees the blood on the sheets his face goes pale and his heart begins to race]
Th-that... Th-that's not...?
no subject
It's blood.
...She must have struggled - Belarus isn't the type who could have been easily killed in her sleep. As I recall, she kept knives on her constantly.
[Not that she really believed Belarus was still alive. After a brief moment, Susan will step forward to pick up the pocket knife - was there any blood on it?]

Y-yeah, that's right... She wouldn't be killed so easily...
[He starts trying to put the room back into somewhat of an order, picking up the things off the floor and putting the pot upright again]
I... I should probably go and look for her.

I can clean up here.
You know her best - go on and think of the places she's most likely to be.
[That said, she holds her breath and reaches down to sift through the sheets to see if there's anything noticeable besides blood. Alcohol and vomit - had Belarus drunk herself into a stupor? If she had, how was it that she had struggled so much?]

[He diverts his attention from the bed and instead looks at the notebook on the desk. He contemplates opening it but decides against it with the hope that she might still be alive. It's not good to nose through other peoples things...]
no subject
Alcohol, now - were there any open bottles of spirits lying about the room?]
...She does tend to start off her days there, doesn't she? If she's anywhere at all, that seems most likely.

[He takes one last look at Susan and the rest of the room. Whatever happened here... he hopes that his gut reaction is wrong]
I'll go look for her.
[And he walks towards the door, his pace unusually fast and dashes out through the hallway]

Let us know if you find anything.
[...Said in the lack of anything better to say. They both knew perfectly well that Belarus was dead. Before Susan departs as well, she will pause and retrieve the flask, departing with both it and the pocket knife.]
