week four trial



[At 9 AM precisely, the old grandfather clock chimes once again, and the doors to the drawing room are opened. They will remain open until everyone has come inside, after which they will shut behind them. It is not possible to leave on your own, although perhaps if you have a specific purpose the hostess will allow you to go, as long as you are accompanied by a partner.

The room is set up comfortably, with several tables by the fireplace set out to assist with the trial. The Hostess will also remain in a seat near the fireplace, next to the scales on the mantle. At lunch, the doors will open to bring in a large meal on an automatically rolling buffet, and at 3 PM, tea and finger sandwiches will be served. You'll be able to enjoy the trial in comfort, of course, but the information cards set out on tables will not allow you to forget your true purpose here.

At 7 PM, the trial will adjourn for the day. Players will be escorted by the Hostess to the ballroom, where dinner and wine will be served until 10 PM, at which point players will be required to return to their wings in groups with their wingmates and will be locked in their bedrooms until 8:30 AM the following morning.]

[ Yeah, uh, Sonia doesn't... care. Sorry. She doesn't seem intimidated at all. The fact that Belarus has resorted to personal insults has pretty much delegated her to a sympathetic status in Sonia's eyes: clearly, she is unstable. ]

Good point. I guess we'll have to see what the items in the cabinets for our suspects are then. At least this incentive should be easier to prove than the past few weeks.

That seems reasonable, though I'm not sure how some of them would have hidden things when there were others in the rooms. Maybe in the hallway somewhere, or something?

... I don't really get it, but I guess this can be called treasure.

[yeah the complete lack of robot knowledge is just making Kaoru want to ollie out of this investigation. a polite headshake, and then:]

The box isn't that big so whatever it could have been might not be that hard to hide if it's small or inconspicuous enough.

Hey, if I ever get put on the suspect list, you're free to search my room too. Or if I get killed. Mine's probably way more embarrassing than yours anyway, so you're totally getting the better part of the deal here.

You did choose to take on the burden. [this is a fact ok.]

Some relief would do you good, the only question is if you can afford to. I don't know how you stand it, personally, willingly stepping up to claim responsibility for so many lives inside a murder game. There are such things as downsides, in being too involved and responsible.

You're right - it is entirely possible she is still guilty. But I will not embarrass myself again as I did in Minatsuki's trial. I shall wait until we have seen more evidence before I accuse anyone of murder this time and put their life at risk. [but she doesn't need any evidence to know that Susan is innocent of course]

Why not? If they're innocent they have nothing to hide.

• A dress meant for Kaoru.
• A brash teenage boy's "superhero" outfit.
• Honestly almost losing it sketches of someone with the initials A.L.
• Just a little thrown in there for Michael Altman, though you can only tell by the M with a horizontal line through the right half suggesting an A. Black, collared, dark psuedomedieval look like you might expect from an empire.

Plenty of pages are still blank. The first one is by far the best; her subsequent drawings have more and more revisions, mistakes, and crossed out portions.]

I as well. I have not made many significant contributions the past two trials, but I must worker harder today. There is no way I am letting Mr. Gundam or Miss Susan die because I could not find the true killer.

Miss Touko claims to have been out in the courtyard and garden around that time. Can anyone account for this?

[ In this week's Murder Manor: Rapture uses her immunity to be the audience for once as she watches battles between countries and princesses, and enjoy a couple of drinks while she's witnessing the entertainment.

Is this endeavor of a self-chosen week long "vacation" planned? Who knows? Only those with psychic abilities can answer that. Will Rapture's player be gone for the majority of the trial and needed a good enough reason for Rapture not getting into it like she usually does? All signs point to yes. ]

[Ignorance is bliss. Beat scratches his chin at the other two, before deciding the sketchbook is probably unrelated and putting it back.]
