Oh, it's...

They're clothing designs, actually. Not leaving paper here, but Susan gave me the idea to take up a hobby, spend my time more productively. Hang on, this one isn't very good--

[She flips back in the sketchbook to a few pages earlier and stops when she can show a black and white somewhat Victorian-aesthetic dress modeled off of the kanji for Kaoru's given name. There are a few different designs for a circlet based off of the top bars (it's not that good an idea, is it), while the high-collared body of the dress came more easily and the hem was really a no-brainer with the bottom four dashes as a guideline.] I had you in mind here but I'm not sure where to go with the colors yet.

[Kaoru leans over to watch her page through the sketchbook, blinking at the design with some amount of surprise.]

My, you did? It looks lovely... [a little complex, since even 20s dresses are kind of over Kaoru's head...! but the aesthetics are appreciated, at least. after a few more seconds of admiring:]

You are quite talented with your designs. I wish that I could lend you aid with the colors, but I fear I do not have the taste required for something like that.
speakveryclearly: Kanaya, monochrome innocent in guilt, laps at violet neck puncture marks, holding their owner close. (Yandere)

You really think so? Thanks... [It's been such a long time since she's shown someone her work and gotten an appreciative response. She'd forgotten how good it could feel.]

Oh well. Coloring supplies are a little more scarce in this manor anyway, it's probably for the best to have more time to think about them.

You are very welcome. I hope that you would not mind sharing more of your work in the future, if I may be bold enough to ask? Such designs are unfamiliar to me, but I enjoy the look of them. [not being particularly talented in the arts, Kaoru has an appreciation for those who are.]

Are they? I haven't noticed... That has to be quite the inconvenience.
speakveryclearly: Kanaya and Vriska in wedding dresses, with closed eyes and cute flushes and smiles and red rose bouquets. (Marriage)

It's only recently that I've tried my prong at this at all so maybe someone else has just taken them for the time being... [She shakes her head a bit. Part of her had expected Annie to come up and ask to borrow her pen.]

I'll show you anything else I make, though, if you really do like it. There are enough pages in this sketchpad to make a reasonable defense against any need for decentralization...

It may be so... Mr. Poland found a colored marker for the board earlier, I believe. [but Kaoru had reasonably not been paying much attention to said notice, since there were quite a few more pressing matters to deal with that trial.

but that gets a smile.]
I do enjoy it and I would very much appreciate being allowed to see more. Thank you, Miss Maryam.
