This post will cover the weekend period from the end of trial Friday evening to early Sunday evening, when new incentives will be announced. No murders will take place over this time.

[She leans back to give up on the task and look up at Rapture, bracing her weight on hands splayed out across the grass.]

I wonder if the Hostess will fix them up after long enough, or just let them linger like this.

If it's a throwaway mansion, it's probably all useless to her.

You never see any landscapes or gardeners either. So, unless she planned on one of us taking care of it, this might just be a one time thing. Sort of like a set you can break down and use somewhere else.

...That's so probable it's eerie.

[ She casually shrugs. ] Rich people like throwing away their money on things. [ Oh, the fond days of the Gabor mansion... ]

To put something like this together, you'd need a lot of money, especially if the set is intended to be destroyed by us in the first place.

I wonder if towards the end someone will just burn down part of the house. That would look good on camera.

It would make for some pretty neat effects.

[ She raises her arms, sunglasses glinting in the afternoon sunlight as she sings a single line: ]

All in the style, set the world aglow!

Uhhhh... I think part of why they went to so much trouble on the set might possibly be to avert the necessity of expenses for effects.

[Y'know.... all the people dying...

Fire makes her uncomfortable on a visceral level anyway; she shrinks unconsciously at the notion.]

I wouldn't be so sure of that. If they can play the Stingers without any problem, they probably have some effects they can use.

Oh... I hadn't considered the mechanics of that at the time.

See? There's much more than meets the eye than what we're aware of. It's just too early into the show to really tell what it entails.

So... what do you estimate as the duration of this "entertainment", anyway?

"There can be only one."

[ She pauses for a moment to let that reference settle in, then shrugs. ]

It's probably going to last for some time. I don't think they'd go through so much effort if they were thinking of ending it tomorrow or next week. With how few of us there are, I'd give it about three months. Shorter if there's a lot of game changers.

Three months would leave... six players, about.


[That is a rather sobering number.]

Depends on how it all plays out. We lost three players this week. Someone who takes a stance and refuses to vote has much of a chance of being executed as victims and culprits do.

Oh yeah...

[Recollecting and becoming morose.]

Poor Ms. Carter... She made the choice herself but...

[ Rapture looks at Kanaya for a moment, then pleasantly smiles. ]

Yeah, but it's in the past now. If you want to win a game, you have to keep playing. The more we sit around and wait, the more we make ourselves viable targets to anyone who deems us as useless.

On the other hand - assuming you're not the person making that particular judgment - we have each other as witnesses for the moment.

[ One would think Rapture would get on everyone's case for frequently being accused of being a possible murderer, but it just rolls off her shoulders with no issue. It hardly bothers her in the least. ]

I haven't been a suspect in the past two trials, so I think you can safely agree that being each others witnesses is a good thing.
