...We already have one.

[Susan sighs slightly. Marlow has the letter, but...]

The person Mordswell was referring to in his diary was Lithuania. Mordswell created a disease that killed all of his people. Lithuania isn't himself - he never was himself, not when we knew him.

( There's a flash in his eyes-- anger-- but he immediately quells it, )

I want to see. I want to see this letter for myself.

...He has it now.

If he won't relinquish it, I can quote it for you.

( And after reading the letter and even having Stiles the sole remaining expert on Eastern Europe that isn't Lithuania read it )

... I still don't believe it. ( Denial at it's best. ) Even if the letter is true, there's more to this; I know it.

( Except he doesn't really know. )

What more could there be? Do you need a ten page signed confession in triplicate? It explains his moral degeneration, though I admit the motive remains unclear apart from spite against the world.

If this is is really his game, why would he set rules he doesn't like? Why would he make himself go through all of the same incentives each week--

( ... But if Lithuania's people were already dead, didn't that make most of the incentives useless against him. )

Apparently, it's the only way he can die for good. I haven't the least idea what he means.
