They gave us an extra day probably because they figure we wouldn't mess this up. I have no doubt we'll catch the Mastermind in time.

If we do mess this up, I hope their ratings plummet and they never have an audience for a show again. ...Unless they enjoy that sort of thing; bad endings.

Or we do so well that they want an encore to bring the final nine of us back in addition to twenty new contestants.

I'd like to get back to my actual job though which means there's no way we're going to lose this.

...Stiles has some sort of incendiary device now, doesn't he? I don't think we'd be amiss if we, ah, accidentally lit the wick as we departed.

Let's find the money before we consider that. [ She smirks, then turns her attention to the door. ] Maybe they used it another time, like with Spain's ordeal. If we can open it there might be... something. Some sort of sign that the Mastermind follows some kind of path at least.

[ She attempts to open it. ]

[A pause.]

...Oh. The trillion dollars or whatever grotesque sum it was? Do you honestly believe they have sacks of gold sitting around the manor for us to plunder when we finish?

[Susan will watch and expect that nothing will happen, really.]

[And nothing does indeed happen after consultation with the all-knowing.]

Perhaps it's just a stairway they didn't finish building when they were designing this house.
