Gundam being Gundam and playing up his eccentricities is the best way to ensure that we'll buy the theory that he killed Beat afterwards. We won't hesitate to execute him rather than May since it wasn't in self-defense.
But no one seems to believe May killed him anyway. With a thirty minute time gap where she was unconscious, anything could have happened! If he's trying to defend May he's doing a lousy ass job of it because no one seems to buy that she did it anyway.
If the true culprit is Gundam and he manipulated the evidence to make it appear as if it were May, he's doing an even worse job of protecting himself.
In any case, it's entirely irrelevant to what actually happened. The facts are as follows: Gundam had a gonne. The bullet in the altar most likely came from that gonne. Therefore, Gundam's gonne was used in the crime.
One more fact - Gundam's bandages are a lot shorter today, and a long strip of bloodstained cloth about the length of his former bandages was found wrapped around a rock in the pond.
[She hadn't had the least idea it would become important, but she was glad she had remembered it, anyway.]
...That he couldn't control the whims of Maga-G or something along those lines. It sounded as if he was binding his arm because of something one of his hamsters did.
[Rolls his eyes.] Yeah, and he also said his bird disposed of his bandages.
The bloodstained cloth I found in the pond wrapped all the way around my arm nearly perfectly, and I'm basically the same size he is. It's not a coincidence that just happened to appear on the same day Gundam changed his bandages and the murder occurred.
If he has no injury, then it must have come from the murder. If Gundam were on the scene that morning, what would he use his bandages for? To staunch May's wounds? To remove a bloody piece of evidence?
If Lithuania is correct that the bullet doesn't match a rifle, his gonne must have been used.
The only thing is that he told me straight out without prompting that his bandages had been changed...
[She frowns.]
I'd taken his posturing as an attempt to draw attention to himself away from May - surely Gundam wouldn't be so stupid as to commit a murder and then to draw attention to all the evidence pointing to him?

He said something to me about that on the day of the murder. Some nonsense about his left arm no longer being sealed.

...okay, new fact. I don't know what exactly he was doing, but Gundam was definitely at the scene yesterday and he's definitely involved somehow.

...Well, have you examined him for wounds, then? I suppose it would show clearly through the fresh bandages, but even still.

...Perhaps... to clean up blood as best he could?

Haha. Ahahaha. You are such a fool. It is hilarious! You know nothing of me, and yet you presume so much!

I'll vote for you or for May or for anyone else if the evidence points that direction. Now do be quiet.
