Rin Kagamine | Monday

[Opal Wing, before breakfast]

[Rin spends a lot of time traveling between her room and the bathroom, carrying various clothes and accessories in with her. It seems she's decided the bathroom's mirror is better than the one in her room, and she's trying to coordinate a better outfit to make a good impression. Right now she's holding up a pink dress and a blue dress to decide, with a small pile of jewelry picked out for each dress.]

[Courtyard, after lunch]

[After getting dolled up and socializing at lunch, Rin may have casually mentioned that she might practice her singing and dancing in the courtyard sometime. So it should really be no surprise when she's out there in the outfit she didn't pick in the first prompt - after all, performing in the same outfit she wore while hanging out? That would just be lame! This dress is, of course, the way cuter one with even more glittery accessories. She'll be bouncing around in front of the fountain singing a song called Twinkle, even picking up a parasol that had been coincidentally left there for the routine. Its lyrics are saccharine and cutesy, a pop love song as expected from a girl like Rin. This should create some fans!]

[ Rapture's finishing her lunch in the ballroom when she sees and hears it through the windows: the most poppy, soul-crushing saccharine music that not even Jem could compete with. It sends a shiver down her bones and makes her grit her teeth, immediately putting her hands to her ears. Already, she knows exactly who it's coming from. ]

Ugh, what is that?!

[ Unable to finish her food, she abruptly arises from the table and leaves the dish behind. Opening the doors to the courtyard, she catches the end of the song echoing throughout the location. Her hands fall to her sides once it ends. How could something that managed to create such a wonderful rock song go along with something like this? A cutesy song and dance number is so passé. ]

What are you doing?

[roadroller]

[not seeing the problem here, Rapture. Rin twirls her parasol.]

Dancing, of course! Wasn't I cute? ♪

Cute? What happened to the music you were playing last week?

[roadroller]

[Rin looks just as confused.]

Huh? Nothing happened to it. I do all genres! ♪

[throe]

[ Well, that makes a lot of sense. She supposes that a music robot would have to market to a wide range, rather than stay with a niche... ]

You've got a point, but did you really have to choose pop? Out of all choices, you had to choose something that sounds like Jem and the Holograms, but... worse.

[ Clearly Rin should be reading Rapture's mind in music tastes and single-handedly just go by that, because the Stingers have far superior taste. ]

"Jem and the Holograms?" Who the heck are they? ♪ [She gives a flat look that implies she doesn't appreciate being called worse than them, at any rate.]

[roadroller]

[but she shrugs after a moment.]

I just picked a song and dance to get my body moving. Anyway, my other songs can be kinda heavy, and I don't want people suspecting me just cause I sang I would rip my face off or somethin'. ♪

[She says it so casually, but since that phrase was oddly specific, it may be apparent that is the kind of song she's really feeling right now. Dispensable. Bah.]

I'm guessing you can't change the lyrics, because that's what I did. [ She returns Rin's shrug with her own. ] The other part wasn't really relevant at the trial anyway.

It's not their faults if they refuse to look at the evidence in front of them and would rather waste their time making assumptions. Music is expression, some people just can't understand that.

[roadroller]

[she nods] The lyrics are programmed in. I'm not really the best at improvisation.

Well, not everyone is as artistic as you and me, and it'd be pretty dumb to ignore the social aspect of a killing game. But if you wanna hear the songs on my mind, I'd honestly like it more. ♪

[and if anyone asks, that craaazy Rapture made her do it, right?]

[ Liking the sound of that, Rapture seats herself neatly on the edge of the fountain. Despite the yellow dress and shiny black heels that she's wearing, she doesn't seem to hold that same sophisticated regard that the 20s clothing does. Instead, it comes off more simultaneously aggressive and baroque when she sits. ]

Sure. I wish I had my bass or even something to do percussion with, then we could at least have a jam session together. [ She sighs, though she doesn't mention that she's conveniently had the memory of her guitar skills cherry-picked out of her repertoire. ]

[Lithuania can't help but notice Rin going back and forth several times with all those clothes and accessories. Given that she's one of the people on the bottom lists, he doesn't really want to just let her run around all on her own, but he's not entirely sure why she keeps going back and forth, either.]

Are you trying to pick out an outfit?

[How could it possibly take this long?]

[roadroller]

[Rin turns, a dress in each hand.]

No, silly, I was going to wear both of these! .... Just kidding. Which do you think looks better? ♪

[vytis]

That one? [Lithuania points to the pink one.] It would go well with your hair... I think?

[Lithuania is really not super great at this sort of thing. He's sure there's a friend at home who's a lot better--but the name and face escape him, annoyingly.]

[roadroller]

Ahh, I do like the pink. The blue one brings out my eyes though. I just want to look my best today!

[Maybe she WILL wear both, she thinks...though not at once. It seemed like the man was watching her before, therefore she ventures a guess]

Umm, so do you need to use the bathroom? ♪

[vytis]

Oh, no, it's alright, just--are you sure it's okay for you to be on your own when you're on that list?

[roadroller]

...You're worried about me? ♪

[Rin seems pleasantly surprised. It's not that she doesn't think she's worth worrying over, but it's the first time anyone in the house has showed they did.]

Ah, well, I figured it was early enough that most people are still in their rooms. Plus, I can't get myself off that list if I hide. ♪

Courtyard

[hollowheart]

[Stopping mid jogging, Annie rests hands on knees, back hunched as she finished a lap and coming back to this.

It seems the courtyard is no longer safe.]

That is pretty loud.

[roadroller]

[Somehow, she doesn't think 'loud' is meant to be a compliment here.]

I'm just doing what I can to get noticed. Aren't you too quiet? ♪

[hollowheart]

I think you're pretty much noticed now.

[roadroller]

Well... [she's afraid to ask, but] What'd you think? ♪

[hollowheart]

I don't recognize the song.

[roadroller]

Oh... is that all? I know a lot of songs, if you have a request! ♪

[don't make her sing guren no yumiya yo, she'll do it]

Or even if there is a certain genre you like! ♪

[Oh God no]

I don't think we have the same songs back in my home. [why are you willing to do things for her? This is confusing.]

[roadroller]

[Rin is confused as to why Annie's not trying to be more social when she's been made a target for it, and yet, Rin is a target herself. Helping her out seems like a win-win situation, though it looks like it's not going to be easy. She scratches her chin thoughtfully at that response.]

Huh. Is music that different where you're from?

[though, she gets the feeling this topic is going nowhere. So she'll add,]
