That could be true, as well. I had not seen her any of the times that I went, but that merely means she may not have been a social drinker, as I was often at the bar when a large number of others were present.
There is, after all, only one person in the house who indulges in this habit. Everyone knows that. And would she really be stupid enough to indulge in her habit while planting pieces of a body? ...We'll need more evidence and a plausible scenario for how the crime was performed.
But... to be frank, she does fit your criteria, does she not?
[She places the ashtray from Touko's room in the exhibit box.]
It is identical to the ash discovered by Poland in consistency. In smell, the odor of burnt flesh in Poland's sample isn't quite enough to cover the scent of cigarette smoke.
Thank you, Kaoru - that's still more information than the rest of us can provide.
It still seems most likely that the killer would have wanted to be in the room that night. If they planted it beforehand, they would have wanted to ensure that Michael took the poison, perhaps, or simply watch to see that no one else did.
...That was my thought as well. Alice has a temper and is altogether human about what she likes and dislikes. Miss Aozaki is... difficult to read, though invariably pleasant.
Well.
If it is indeed her, let's find the scenario that fits all the pieces of the puzzle. We must not choose the wrong one this time.
Well Rapture is a suspect Beat. I got to say, she's very gutsy to admit to staying up late when we know the murder was about chopping the body. Confidence from her super ego or a dare for us to suspect her with such a ludicrous alibi.
As it's been confirmed already, I drank red wine that night. I don't stop by the bar too often, twice or thrice a week at most. It's a convenient place to find company at a late hour, and we were a good number on Wednesday night.
Poisoning is the easy part, frankly. Anyone could've slipped poison inside specific bottles earlier, anytime during Wednesday. The killer just needs to know when the victims retire, they could keep watch anywhere between the bar and the bedroom wings, as long as it allows them to beat witness. The bar's the simplest place, but they could divert suspicion away from themselves by not being present during the evening. It's not too hard to bump into someone living on the upper floors by the main staircase while they're headed to bed, after all.
[a beat.]
Then there's the speed of the poison, if we can determine what was used and how long it needs to take effect.
Hmm...I'm having difficulty finding a specific poison that would cause all these symptoms, but it seems like vomiting is a common side affect from poisonous plants.
